He never said we we have no bottle

However we have earnt the title as legends due to past performances under Redknapp and AVB as well as last season poor quarter

We have improved a huge amount over the last 5 years but that label of spursy and legends wont go until we win something!

Don't agree. I think we're earning respect now, although plenty don't want to admit it.

The not winning something, to an extent at least, is just an excuse for others not to praise even though its merited.

If we won the carling cup and finished 10th nobody would give a fuck really, outside of us I mean.

Son's goal reminded me of his goal against Watford last season...well the celebration anyway...just ran around and has no idea what to do with himself then eventually ended up celebrating with the fans :D
Reminiscent of many of Rafa's celebrations, particularly against the Arse.

Also, Vincent deserves a start next game and I don't want to see Sissoko in a spurs shirt again, the latter is a lost cause and just has a negative impact on our play.

I thought GKN had a good showing as well.
We might get away with him starting at home but I completely agree, he wastes any potential opportunity because his touch is poor, he can't get around the full back and he can't make an easy pass count. Total liability for us and if we had have signed Zaha instead who knows, may be we would be a little closer to Chelsea. Maybe.

How the fuck can you claim we have no bottle than we have gained way more points than any other Club from losing positions this season.

We will make mistakes as a young group of players but we're progressing and improving all the time.

If you can't see the bigger picture, and it's painfully obvious, you could do with picking another sport.

legends, do me a favour. Our mental strength has improved considerably under Pochettino.

The problem is we're becoming victims of our own success. The minute things start to get shaky or frustrating, heaven forbid another team has a say in the way a game is going, and you get impatient types on here lashing out and labelling the team as legends lol

Its actually incredible really.
I didn't say our mental strength hasn't improved I was saying you can't get rid of the legends tag because of one game which is right. Even though we came third last season we were still classed as legends because Arsenal over took us when we expected to get 2nd. If the same thing happens again nobody will give a fuck about the Swansea result.

Yea but those clubs that win the carling cups and finish 10th dont tend to be top clubs. Like we weren't consider a top club when we did it.

The fact is we are showing fight in the league but we crashed out of europe twice already, in the group stage and against Gent in the europa league and had a poor showing in the carling cup(though that doesnt matter as much)

If we lose to chelsea in the FA cup and then at the end of season, it will have been a poor showing in all the cups.

If we win the FA cup we will have won our first major trophy in 26 years

Unless of course you think finishing fourth is like winning a trophy:p

We're not legends, that's the point. The real point is that we're progressing and there's no doubt we're mentally tougher.

A little patience is needed, it's clear we will start to win things soon.

Davies has been solid enough for us but there's a tameness and softness about his defending that can really irk me, maybe I'm too used to seeing the extreme tenacity that Rose shows.

Regardless of the Cup, if (when) we finish the second best team in the country then that means a lot.

No one can say that we're legends until we win a trophy, that's a bit silly, Arsenal won back to back FA Cups yet their collective mentality is poor for example. The point is though is that you recognise the progress we've made as a club since the days of when we were rightly called legends. Yes there's been a couple of results on the way (Newcastle, CL campaign, Gent etc..) where we've lost however we've shown that we have a great mentality under Poch more times that not, that's the point.

We bottled last season when we had the chance overtake Leicester when we played West Ham and 10 man Arsenal, not to mention every time we played before Leicester we did poor but after leicester we did well. That gives people ammo for calling us legends because we weren't chasing Chelsea but instead chasing Leicester. If that was Liverpool a lot of us would have laughed our heads off. Not to mention the fact that we finished below Arsenal after losing to a relegated side.

Then you have this season and the Group stages, were we didnt turn up and we got knocked out by a mid table Belgium side.

We are improving but we have dont enough to get rid of the title yet.

Im not disagreeing with you but we have to build on that.

Newcastle finished 2nd two seasons in a row. They won fuck all despite getting to the FA cup final twice afterwards and then are remembered for bottling the league.

What we're building is completely different in terms of comparing to Newcastle in that era mate.

Way off and knock one out, it's been a great night for our mighty team of legends.

Spot on. The comparison to that Newcastle team is simply incorrect.

Those back to back Fa Cup wins for Arsenal brought Wenger a lot more time and got the monkey off their back. No one called them legends during that period

It also was actually a positive period for the club because for the first time in about 6 years it seemed like the club was going to challenging for title and they did before they bottled it again.

Of course no one said well, Arsenal aren't bottling it since they didnt bottle it more times than bottling it since they finished second for the first time in 11 years? Of course not they said they bottled it.

The point is that unless you are winning for a sustained period, the label of legends wont go away.

We hope its different and hopefully it will be but until we win a major trophy we cant ignore the last 26 years

Also the subject was about the label of legends, I never called us a team of legends (y)

The comparison was more to do with the fact if we dont win anything over the next couple of years then we wont shake of that monkey

Tonight was the first time Janssen looked like a natural part of the team. He looked more relaxed and composed, hopefully he can build on this
