I presume dribbling and shooting normally comes under "creative force".... unless she shoots like Freund (the best footballer who can't kick a ball) and dibble liks Vega.
When I have seen Liverpool play, lots of play do go through Coutinho and often when playing against Spurs he does pose a lots of threats with his passes and creating space with his dribbling skills.
It's the same as Yannick Bolasie though. People get wowed by dribbling that is backed with little substance. I'll admit Coutinho is better than most in that remit, but he's nowhere even close to the type of player as Eriksen is who I would say is a proper creator and playmaker.

Any source crediting Son with six assists is counting being fouled for a penalty as an assist, which he has been twice - at home to West Ham and Middlesbrough. Officially they don't count. It's also crediting him with an assist for Kane's first goal against West Ham, as he tapped in after Son's shot was parried by the keeper. Again, officially that doesn't count as an assist.

Premier League official stats has him on three assists. So you were correct, officially.

So once again, there are lies, damned lies and statistics.

Never, never, never trust stats, and never base opinions upon them.

Sorry to derail the Coutinho thread, but if we are looking at another AM I really like the look of Max Meyer. Young, skillful and could learn a lot from Christian. Cheaper option than Ross Barcley.

I hate to say it, but he's hasn't really come along in the last couple years. I remember someone said he looked more like the German Ward-Prowse and I can't really disagree with that.

If we're going for an attacking creative AM I would hope we'd look at someone else.

overrated player in an overrated league

Why are so many on SC claiming other leagues to be so much inferior to the EPL? The Bundesliga is apparently over-rated, Ligue 1 is "crap", Eredvisie is a "micky mouse league", and then you got Seri A, Primeira Liga, Jupiler pro lleage...

Tielemans scored and got an assist yesterday while playing in the #10 role taking him up to 18 goals and 11 assists in all competitions, just saying...

Meyer's an interesting one, he's having a bad season, which may let someone take advantage of his poor personal relationship with Shalke and get a young, physically and technically strong player with great german pedigree on the cheap. The problem that I've heard from Reddit (which I think it is only a half truth at best) is that Meyer has a horrible attitude, so maybe if he is taken out of his comfort zone, forced to actually prove his ability on the football field and can learn how to act both on and off the pitch from a man like poch, then he could be a wonderful signing. Atm he's not very high on my list but he shouldn't be totally disregarded, especially since we were so interested in him last year.

I agree completely.

Judging by a few of our recent transfers, unfortunately, it seems Poch might be one those people too.
Poch much prefers economical, reliable players who pass the the ball to dribblers. His record here speaks to that. He's just looking for that one different option who can open up a blanket defence. Pretty much all great teams have one.

It's going to be hard this summer as the areas we need to improve are the most bloated, especially now that we play 343. We now play with two attacking midfielders and have Son, Lamela, Sissoko, Nkoudou and the returning Njie as alternatives who will expect to play at least semi regularly. Son is the only one to have had a material impact this season and we are still in a situation of lacking a creative alternative to Eriksen.

How on earth do you unload Lamela, who has spent two out of four seasons injured, Sissoko, who is on high wages and looked absolutely awful for us, and the two N'Galls who have barely had any minutes for us? If we are to persist with this formation, we need to free up space before bringing in anyone. This is before we consider that Marcus Edwards is at an age where he needs to gets minutes too.

The defensive roles are well covered between Toby, Jan, Dier, Wimmer, CCV and in certain circumstances Davies (who is clearly rated by Pochettino). Out wide we are more than covered on the right, and in theory on the left (though a more attacking wing back, converting Davies to Vertonghens understudy, would not be unwelcome). We have three 'strong' central midfield options in Dembele, Wanyama and Dier, and Winks as a more nimble option who could play with any of them, not to mention Eriksen or Dele if really necessary.

The ideal for me would be to cleanse the dross we've stockpiled at AM, bring in a player who could really challenge Eriksen and Dele (this shouldn't limit Son too much as he also plays up front), bring in a Rose-lite and maybe bring in a Wanyama-lite if the plan is to keep Dier at RCB.

This is of course all assuming a 343 future.

Lloris
Dier Alderweireld Vertonghen
Walker Wanyama Dembele Rose
Alli Eriksen
Kane

Janssen
(New 1) Son
(New 2) Winks (New 3) Trippier
Davies Wimmer C.Vickers
Vorm

Spare: Pau, W.Peters, Edwards
New1: Isco/ Barkley/ Coric
New2: Sessegnon/ Robertson/ Holebas
New3: R.Vieira/ Cubas/ Imbula

Imubla has been shocking for Stoke. Fans hate him. He's like Zokora mark two. No discipline just aimless dribbles.

But nowhere near the workrate of zoko either. Shocking energy output.

Looked very good before he went to Porto, still only 24, has everything physically and technically and Pochettino is an improver of player who have the raw materials.

Would prefer the young Leeds boy that said.

Yeah, dunno...his attitude sucks balls form what I've seen in the prem, though. If he really is a player he's hiding it under piss-poor application.
