Can’t help but think that if we sign another top centreback now that in a couple of years time we’ll be selling van de Ven and his unfulfilled potential for half of what we paid for him.

Think Eze would be a great signing. With contract up in 2 years Palace may consider selling. Once this window shuts his value will only start to drop

Him and Maddison in the 8 positions would be great, shielded by Bissouma

Add Bentacur, GLC, Skipp and Sarr and that's 7 players for 3 positions which might seem like an overkill but sarr and skipp are young and bentancur wont be fully fit until Novemebr. Eze could also play left or right forward

Sell Hojberg Ndombele Gill to make room

So total knee jerk reaction after one competitive game but with £86m + sales in our pocket I think we need 4 more

Another talented Goalkeeper, Vicario has plenty of promise but a quality option makes sense

Another CB good enough to start

A threat on the Right Wing someone in the mould of Doku with trickery and a goal threat

A young centre forward with potential but further along than Scarlett in terms of experience

Richy done okay in terms of his general play, and didn’t have a lot of service. In reality, he only had one decent half chance, and that wasn’t for the lack of trying.

The wing area was our issue today. Fortunately, both Kulusevski and Son can operate well in other areas IMO (no. 8/10 and no. 9 respectively), but I do worry neither are perfect fits as wingers in Ange’s system.

I’d 100% be looking at a winger who can beat their marker down the line. It’s more of a priority than CF I think.

Think you might be right but we will need to shift about 10

Get Don paratici to Juventus and sign bremer chiesa vlahovic

Looking at the bench today we didn't have another striker to come on. It feels like we definitely need someone else in that position, especially if Son is starting on the left.

we definitely need a striker. not to replace all of Kanes goals, but someone who has that instinct in front of goal, someone clinical.

Based on this game, IMO we need
  1. Another CB - Sanchez did well, but we need another quality CB - Tapsoba or Schurrs or Adirabayo
  2. Striker who is good in tight spaces and score well - Orban or Jonathan David
  3. Winger forward wide - Nico Williams, Brennan Johnson, Doku
  4. Another no8 - I dont think Skipp as well as he could have done
For no4, may be we live with Skipp & Sarr for now. In 2 months, hoping Bentancur is fit to play - he would be perfect for that role.

Btw, anyone knows how has Chiesa recovered from his ACL ?
If he is fit, signing a player like him would be perfect. His profile would suit our need perfectly...as long as he can be fit

A fast, tricky winger who is comfortable crossing with his right foot has to be our absolute priority now.

I am actually not that bothered about another CB now. Romero and van de Ven with Sanchez as cover should be fine.

Following need to go ASAP

Lloris
Spence
Tanganga
Dier
Reguilon
Sessegnon
Ndomble
Gill

Maybe get 70m for the lot

Then it's a case of one in one out

Listen to offers for sanchez Davies hojberg perisic if we have better players lined up spending the above money and all of the Kane money and a centre forward

Sell :
Lloris
Davies
Tanganga
Dier
PEH?

Sign:
CB
CM
RW
ST

Do that and we could be absolutely rocking this season once we get up to speed with Ange's style of football.

Yes to your first point no to the 2nd, Sanchez can be our 4th choice CB but not our 3rd choice CB.

Totally agree. Sanchez has a good game in him, but also has a terrible game in him where he makes several mistakes which lead to clear cut chances or goals. As soon as he has one of those bad games everyones will be calling for his head again. I pooped myself a little when he came on earlier but he did OK in the end.

Also agree about the winger. We're stacked on the left now though, with Perisic staying and Solomon no doubt expecting some games (and we don't know how good he will be yet) so I would prioritise a player most comfortable on the right, but ideally could play either side. Had hopes for Gil under Ange but as he's injured we need can't afford to wait for him.

With No European football we barely need a 4th centreback. In an emergency Davies or maybe Phillips can play there.
Disagree the drop off to Sanchez is too big and the drop off to Davies is absolutely massive.

If we want a decent league finish especially against top 6-7 sides Sanchez will struggle and Davies even more so.

We absolutely need one more CB of real quality to cover and rotate with Romero and VDV. I’d be extremely disappointed if we didn’t sign another one.

Regardless of no European football we want to go far in the 2 cups, there will still be busy congested periods with games in quick succession and one suspension or major injury to Romero or VDV and we could end up down to Sanchez & Davies which would be an absolute disasterclass with this high line.
