Story about Caulker

I have some contacts on the staff at Yeovil. I'm told Caulker turned up at their League One game on Saturday, despite Spurs having a game and his loan deal to possibly Leeds being pending. He wanted to say goodbye to the staff and supporters at Yeovil and was welcomed on to the pitch at half-time and given a standing ovation. Everyone at Yeovil thinks he's a fantastic character, very level-headed and respectful. He was jokingly presented with a contract for next year to sign by one of the staff and he basfully said he'd love to come back next year but can't becausae he's going somewhere else.

Also, last year JP Kalala - a senior Yeovil player - wanted to set up a Haiti disaster fund amongst the players as he has relatives over there. He wanted each player to contribute £150 a month over the season. A pretty limited number of players agreed to do so, but Caulker and Ryan Mason, at the age of 17/18, were among them.

Just a couple of little pointers, and not the first I've heard from those at Yeovil, that suggest we're bringing our young players up the right way.

I know it's not exactly 'ITK' but I'm happy to verify my sources if the mods so wish

Good to learn that their generation does have some morales and scruples. Great story - hope it reaches the nationals...but it won't be given the time of day.

I should add, that the staff at Yeovil were equally impressed by Obika and Townsend when they spent time at the club. I believe Spurs had bought, or at least rented a property downt there for them and Danny Hutchins, and all of the young Spurs boys had shown themselves to be level-headed, humble and unwilling to get involved in any of the negative behaviour often associated with young footballers. Yeovil were very keen to strike up a lasting relationship with Spurs and to take our youngsters on a regular basis, although none have yet made the move this summer.

Good work being rewarded by newspapers???? I dont think so. Good for him though. I hope he reaps what he sows.

Oi! I'll have you know I work for a newspaper! This is the sort of story papers would give some space to if they were made aware of it. Players and lower league press offices aren't generally very proactive in that sense, however.
I take your point, though.

Just wait till he's famous and Danielle Lloyd and Abbey Clancy start offering to suck him off at the same time with the winner getting a £200 handbag. Then he'll lose his humility as quickly as the rest.
