Steven Caulker has spilled the beans on a heated conversation he had with Daniel Levy while at Tottenham - and the haunting prediction the Spurs chairman conjured.

The defender had a promising career at Spurs, training with the club's reserves from the age of 15 and eventually becoming an established first-team squad member after multiple impressive loan moves.

actually reading the article, levy was right and was being reasonable offering him an extension

What the Mail don't include here is that Caulker, at least in other interviews, has very much admitted he regrets his actions that summer and was wrong to force a move away.

But did Levy really believe his career would fall away if he left Spurs or did he try to scare him into signing a new deal? If he didn't believe in his talent then why offer him a new deal?

He could believe in his talent, yet felt like his behaviour was poor (which apparently it was) and gave him an olive branch to improve it. Since Caulker probably didn't react to the criticism well then he made that statement.

At least that's what I get from it
