I thought no company could buy two different football clubs. Isn't that why ENIC sold all it's shares in Glasgow Rangers (and Partizan Belgrade...?) when they bought us from Alan Sugar back in 2001?

.
Must be ways around owning more than one club look at the City Group, in Europe apart from Man C they also part own Girona 2nd division Spain and Troyes Ligue 1 France plus others throughout the world.

SL are a mainstay of the Europa League:

I thought there were rules about teams with the same owner in the same competition; essentially, it's not allowed.

Both Spurs and SL could quite easily end up in the Europa League, so I'm not sure this rumour is credible...unless ENIC plan to sell Spurs.
Surely aiming for Europa League is promotion for us considering where we are at, #aimforthestars

Not a chance anyone gets upgraded.

The team that finished lower would have to give up the spot.
If that means drop down to the next comp or just no European football, I don't know.

I would guess that with the chance of dropping down a competition you would have to drop from CL to the Conference.

Have the 2 Red Bull teams been in the same competition?
It seems they played each other twice in the group stages of the EL back in 2018. Salzburg won both.

Yup I think the Red Bull situation clearly shows there’s way round it. Couldn’t have a much clearer link than the same name ffs.

I was saying an upgrade very much tongue-in-cheek :) ;)
But who knows what could happen as you say the Red Bull teams are in the same comp this season

Sounds like the rules have been loosened in the last 10 years or so.

If that's the case, then it sounds like a fairly mundane investment deal.

Probably won't affect either club in any meaningful way.

Ah but according to UEFA they're named RasenBallsport Leipzig and FC Salzburg. So of course they're no connection with each other

Rasenballsport isn't even a real word, it translates as grass ball sport and neither football nor any other game was ever called that before Red Bull invented it so they could call the club RB.

Can’t see how anyone would think this is bad for us. Having a farm club would be great. Better path to keep/develop our own youth and a way to take some high upside lotto shots at young foreign talent. This would be awesome.

It will be just like Man City and their group of companies/clubs.

They do it so they can buy a player, loan him out to one of their clubs, his price then rises after good performances and they sell him for a higher fee. They did it in the summer with a few players who had never even pulled on a city jersey.

It helps them get round FFP as the sale goes on their balance sheet and they can then spend more on players.

Look at the departures on here to see what they’re up to. Shouldn’t be allowed.

Zeki fryers was once ‘parked’ here if I remember. Must have been some links dating back with ENIC.

Your choices are...

A gangster

A warlord

A slaver

They're all billionaires though (y)
As long as they respect womens rights, dont fund terror, dont stone people to death for their sexual orientation & dont murder & dismember people on foreign soil, i think i might be okay. The game is morally bankrupt & its just a sportswashing playground as is. As long as we support the club, we should want to see them win. Unfortunately, it seems it is the cost of doing business these days.

Or they intend spending enough to ensure we're ALWAYS in the CL
