I really am liking the fact we have a great group of young players who are getting taught the same way as Ange is teaching the first team.

When you look at the list of highly talented players it makes exciting reading.

I cant wait to see Mikey Moore start getting in the mix. If he continues how he is, we may see him training with the 1st team next year

He definitely seems a generational talent that boy. Has it all to get to the very top.

My top list out of our academy would be:

Moore, Dorrington, Phillips and Donley. These 4 just seem to be a cut above everyone else at the minute.

That’s not to say that the next guys like Devine, Santiago, Scarlett etc etc won’t make it, I just see those 4 as the clear top level.

It’s mad though as the younger you go you see extreme talent just pouring through, Herbie James from City is an excellent prospect, Oliver Irow has the ability to play anywhere across the front 3 and scores goals for fun, Hall and Kyerematen are both extremely talented midfielders.

Really exciting future.

And Donley as Maddison's understudy / rotation followed by Mikey Moore taking on the left WF role ?
That's utter filth.
Would like us to get all of these guys playing consistent men’s football next season before rushing them into the first team. Should all play a full season at Championship level first. With the U21s flying this season they should be well positioned to secure strong loans next season.

I think there will be interest in a fair few in January if their performances continue like this.

Former flatmate was one of the officials at u18s today. Very impressed with Moore and said looked class above the others and never stopped running at Blackburn backline

Devine is definitely in the top list for me, the guy will definitely be a premier league regular soon, my guess is within the next couple years.

Ah nice, I’d love to see that happen. To be able to have a “second” team with a high number of players from our academy would be amazing.

Sure hope Ange gives those who deserve a chance the opportunity to show what they can do. I feel some good loans will really help out over the next couple seasons, Devine and Scarlett out on loan this season, next year I feel Dorrington should find somewhere to get some serious minutes and come back a more rounded player. Same could be said for Phillips too, unless he makes a breakthrough this season with Dier nowhere near the squad.

Also think Donley going on loan next season will really help too. Will be too early for Moore to head out imo as he only turned 16 three weeks ago.

I feel you’re underrating Devine here. He’s comfortably in that top bracket for me. I’ve been very confident that he’ll make it as a PL player for us for quite a while and the only thing he’s lacking is the man strength/power that he’ll gain over the next couple years.

Definitely agree with the overall jist of your post though, it’s really exciting seeing the long list of very promising young players due to come through in the next 2-3 years

If Phillips goes out on loan at any time in the next three years, he will not qualify as Club Trained (he is already HG of course). Similarly Will Lankshear can only take one year on loan. I'm hoping that the club don't use this point to hold them back from loans - Phillips looks good, but raw; he could use a Championship loan in the New Year.

Looks like Donley is thriving in the Maddison role. Great to see.

When Philips and Dorrington play together, which side do they play? The internet has them both down as right footed.

Did Soonsup Bell get his loan? Wasn’t that a requirement of him coming here or something?

Well he IS still here.
But yes you are correct I believe.
That was the agreement that was reported.
I do wonder if that injury at the back end of the last season scuppered the loan talk.

I think his going to be phased in this season. Already on the bench, him and Dorrington have a very slim path in front of them, I can’t see how they can not be training with the first team preparing them for next. I also wonder if Donely will see sometime if we have injuries.

I might sound hopeful but watching JDs Assists we have to get him training with Maddison
