I can’t watch that 2nd goal again, got one devastated kid here about it!
Feel for him mate, hope he doesn't dwell on it too much. It's a mistake that you see professionals get away with sometimes, he was just unlucky that the striker was so close when the cross came in. Made some good stops during the game

Cheer him up by showing him the spurs number 3 making a right arse of it at 5.15mins into the highlight. Wish I had a quid for every time I done that I'm my playing days 😂

A mistake like that while he’s developing will likely turn out to be a great thing. I’m sure loads of us on here have made a big blunder in the past and it’s been the catalyst to that aspect of their game in whichever sport they compete in becoming a strength of theirs. Also the fact he’s beating himself up about it shows he’s a winner and has the right mentality to learn from it. He’ll be fuming for a few days and then get back to working on it on the training pitch with a higher level of focus on not letting it happen again

He really will put it to rights.

he said he was already in the phase of release, so mind was going too quick to concentrate on the catch, he’s 17, he has bundles of potential, and he’ll sulk tonight, but he’ll learn tomorrow.

he just wanted to be perfect against the team he supports as of course a dream for him to be at spurs

Tell him not to dwell on it. Overall he was excellent. Everyone makes mistakes. Even Harry Kane fluffed his lines a time or two at youth level. He put it to the back of his mind and got on with it and that's what the coaches are looking for. Resilience.
Resilience is what this boy has, no idea where he gets it from, it’s always how he reacts and I know he’ll be stronger for it. Overal decent, against a really strong spurs side

I'm not surprised, as what really came across in the highlights was how quick he was on his feet and how, as soon as he took the ball, he was up and running to the edge of the penalty area to release it.

Somewhat sadly for him, he was often so quick that half his team was still behind him when he was trying to set an attack going.

Right way to play though. All the best to him.

Happened all season so far, zero options for him so he ends up holding it!

he can play with eh feet too, both footed, confident etc

Think he made a lot of good saves. Keeper is such a brutal position because the mistakes result in goals where other positions mistakes barely get a mention.

It really is brutal, he ain’t done that kinda mistake for years.

compare to spurs keeper, hardly had a thing to do, made a good free kick save and is an absolute unit a 6’6

My son said Hall and Black were the two, that bossed it today.

along with Moore being so young and strong and great at finishing

Is George Abbott injured? Was given his premier league debut as a substitute vs. Leeds and has seemingly gone missing since

He was very good from what i saw in the highlights. Very quick reactions.
Got stuck in at the end looking after his team mate too. I like that.

Only 2nd match I’ve watched in full, that Mikey Moore has played. I’m starting to see some of the hype.

Shanks, Even though your boy is not at Spurs, it was great to see him in action. As a follower of this thread, It’s genuinely exciting to watch his progress.

As a coach of 30 plus years of elite swimmers, I like your attitude as a parent. Keep the support network positive.

Not only a good finish, but credit to him for getting up from the grass so fast and sprint to take part in the attack, great attitude.
