Also something that's equally important for the u23s is a clean sheet in the context of how the season has gone for them so far.

Glad to see that Scarlett is playing more games for the U23s. It's the best course of action for his development.

With our lack of goals Dilan Markanday and Jamie Donley should both be bench options at the minute for the first team.

If Mason is in charge very soon be interesting how many chances he might give. Didn’t really get the chance last time as was end of season and pressure was on to get into Europe. I’ve said from day one I had more faith in Donley than Scarlett. But Donley is still only 16 although he’s physically very well developed I wouldn’t involve him in senior squad yet, give him another season building his confidence.

Does anyone know Conte’s reputation with the youth at his previous clubs?
No one broke through at Chelski but that's not unusual. I don't know how he did at other clubs. My guess is not great. We've opted to go for a big two year project to get us back on track. After that I imagine we'll go for a younger project manager who will have the task of bringing through some youngsters. Its not ideal for those youngsters approaching their breakthrough but there you go.

Yep, will be difficult for the youngsters. But as the only Academy lad who's been given a decent chance in the last year has been Scarlett, who is not ready for it yet, it probably won't be effectively any worse.

I think Conte coming in means that now is the perfect time to make better use of loans. The next 18-24 months will likely see Conte stick to ready made first teamers, so players like Markanday, Scarlett, Pastoski, Devine, John etc could go out and really gain some experience playing Senior football.

If/when Conte leaves, they will be in a much better place to join our first team squad.

Parrott, Etete and Bennett should also get another loan next year imo.

The state of our team at the moment, it won’t do young players any good being involved with that lot. Better off going on loan.
Is football the only job where you can get rid of your boss if you don’t like him.
Leicester did it to Ranieri the season after they won the league.
