I think there’s something going on with Paskotsi and not good. He’s played a lot of international football lots of scouts are now aware of him.
He's tied down at the club until 2023 (likely with an option for us to extend as in most of our youth contracts) so the club still hold the cards for now.

My fear too. It will be no surprise if we lose both him and Markanday for next to nothing, such is the the incompetent way the Academy seems to be run these days

Nope, not in ECL squad. Don't understand his lack of games. Hope we don't lose him
As I've said before not every decision regarding playing matches is based on how good players play on a Saturday. Lot's of other factors can impact a players(especially a young one) game time. I have no idea specifically in this case just pointing out it's not always straight forward.

Fair comments, but as we don't know, as you rightly allude to, we can only guess.
What is a fact is that we lost Madueke and Binks for next to nothing, compared to their current values. So that's not a good sign, and if Paskotski and Markanday go the same way, there are going to be to be lots of questions asked and accusations raised by many disgruntled Spurs fans

And what is the value of Binks, pray tell. Started one game for Bologna after a few games in the MLS.
You lot constantly whine on about youth players not getting games. Yet do not mention the fact that Skippy , after a years loan, has come back and is now a fixture in the first team.
Never let the truth get in the way of a good moan.
It shows that if you are good enough , you will get a chance.
Some players are not prepared to wait and so leave and join another club. It’s their choice. We can’t keep everybody.
I maintain that KWP is the only major mistake we have made by not loaning him out . Poch to blame for that. However even KWP has had to move to left back after Southampton bought Livramento.
People in here used to shout for Onomah to be playing when it was obvious he wasn’t up to it. The game just passed him by on loan at Villa . Conspicuous by his absence in the Fulham team in the second division.
Of the current bunch I am undecided on Scarlett as they are unable to give him enough minutes in the first team at present. Not great for him to be in a second team in the conference . They never perform. Parrot may or may not make it although I thought he was a definite two years ago.
Devine and John must have a chance.

Jamie Donley has just put England U17s in front vs Belarus with a beautiful looping header. Rio Kyerematen also captaining England.

your right overall most of the boys will never quite make it, there are all up against internationals to break into the first team and the truth is if you put those internationals into the stiffs they would shine perhaps more brightly. Boys can look great in the youth team, Josh was outstanding in a very good youth team he would receive the ball anywhere keep it and use it. Suddenly in the first team he couldn't impose himself on games (i still think he never had that personality to demand the ball where as in the youth team he had that respect from team mates he never earned that in the first team) he ended up playing wide and he never looked confident enough which I still think is real shame. I agree about KWP he improved so much and then we picked Aurier in front of him

The trouble with picking kids they need time to adjust and find there feet and modern football isn't a patient game you can be a star one minute then a donkey the next dare I mention Winksy . I would say it takes 10 to 20 games until a boy is really part of the first team - loans are ok but even they are not always easy, clubs lower down the pyramid have the same pressures they are not doing you a favour to bring a boy in on loan - the boy has to do a job and for every loan that works out well there are more where its bloody hard and unrewarding, a stark change from going from same age football to the slog of lower league football.

Reserve football doesn't really work for the youngster the league format is a bit more competitive but you are coming up against effectively the same players you have been playing against for all your pro career I feel that feeder clubs would be a good way to go but you lose the integrity of the league and even then you only have to look at the results the u23 sides get when play league sides in that midweek cup not one u23 side has won that

Appreciate the good enough old enough arguments, but I do think we should be organising loans better to buy development time for players we think have a good chance of making it and who are eager to play….
whatever happened to the link up we had with Swindon, need a feeder club or two again to help

The link we had with Swindon was Dim Tim being best mates with their former owner.

I do agree that we should look for a similar arrangement with another club, not sure how many EFL clubs are keen on tying themselves to just one PL club though.

I certainly feel a feeder club situation would be hugely beneficial. I saw someone reference Swindon but we also had a fantastic arrangement with Yeovil. I went to watch them once away at Leeds as they had four of our boys on loan at once. Caulker, Townsend, Mason and Obika. Three went on to become full England internationals and we received Caulker £8m, Townsend £12m, Mason £13m. £33m all in.

Do we need to start developing coaches as well?

Get them their badges and a few seasons with the youngsters before, hopefully they can move on to other clubs. Then they will know players and links to the club.

We already do that, Scott Parker being the obvious one. But I am sure there were a few more that went into management after leaving our youth ranks. Technically you can add Sherwood to that as well.

I imagine from a spurs pov there is no financial incentive to do so, apart from the improvement of the players, but we always seemed to hire quality 'potential' managers around the youth team.

However I'm not sure how good our youth managers are now, we don't seem to get as many updates from/about the youth managers these days.

I wonder if Dawson has any aspirations to coach or just happy with his media stuff and ambassador role. Can definitely see Vertonghen going into management maybe Toby as well. Got a very strong feeling Jan will be our manager one day.

Looks like bench tomorrow will all be kids and Scarlett starting. Pretty risky by Nuno Vs a half decent team. Should definitely see a Markanday debut as sub at least.

Yep, it's very risky but if it gives Markanday a chance from the bench I will feel better about it

Markanday in the traveling squad confirmed – he was filmed boarding the team jet on the club's Instagram account.

Hopefully he gets to play!
