It's hard to know what the benefits are this season for Parrott. Now we're out of the league cup, I'd say that only a catastrophic Kane injury would see him on the bench for the first team and he doesn't seem to be playing much youth football. Obviously training with Kane is gonna be a huge benefit for him in setting the standards he's got to reach, but at the moment I do wonder what the plan is.

training with kane and co is obviously a good thing for his development but what i and many others can't understand is why that has to preclude him from playing matches at any level. he will probably play in the uyl tomorrow but a handful of games a season isn't enough. one of the first academy-related things i remember pochettino saying when he came here was that the idea is to get players into the first team at 21-22, now i don't think that's unreasonable but it seems like this isn't so much an aim, but more of a de facto process that all players have to go through. as i said above, what works for one won't necessarily work for another, someone like parrott may not need years and years of training and "integrating" before he's ready to contribute.

i would prefer if we took pochettino out of the equation and just kept the academy and the first team separate. scotty parker really wanted skipp on loan this summer but poch said no, i think a year at fulham could have been fantastic for him but instead he's with us not playing and looking on as a crocked wanyama plays ahead of him. tanganga had championship interest, nope best stay here and train. tob the same and we even had a permanent offer from reading, instead he's pissing about as a #10 in the u23s and we've even ended up in a situation where we have to leave talented players out of our uefa youth league squad because we've got too many to choose from - a result of our "reject all offers" approach. parrott i was told had interest from a premier league team, i'm not as displeased with that given his age but we know where this is likely going.

it's frustrating and it is what it is so no point moaning about it, even though i still do, all the time.

Well, I will not be taken by surprise if parrot leaves us next summer. Even Barcelona provide more opportunities for their prospects then the manager "who likes working with the youngsters". It is a real shame. There is no team in the world can run the business without an academy. It seems that we are such a rich club that we can afford any player for any price.

Under-16 striker, Dane Scarlett is in the 20-man provisional squad for the UYL game against Bayern tomorrow, so it’s most likely he will be on the bench.

Maybe Parrott is with the 1st team. 19th player maybe?

Hopefully Maghoma can justify his selection, I watched the first game on tv and was not impressed with his performance. Binks looked to have some potential.

Oh, just see we 0-1 down already.

I was impressed by Bowden too in the first game, I could see why Poch had him with the first team last season. Poch loves a CDM.

we look garbage. No idea what's happening at the club but the youth side of it has gone backwards in the last few years
