Jose Mourinho's overhaul of his Tottenham squad will not stop with the signings of Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon, with the Portuguese now set to target a striker and a centre-half as well as offloading unwanted players.

Of the two positions he wan5s I just hope that the centreback is a top player. We have not got a truly outstanding centreback at the moment. We do have an outstanding striker. We need someone to be our Van Dijk.

What's missing?
A more dominant CB.
A CF to challenge Kane
An alternative option to LoCelso for creative passing

If I could have anything, I think it would be a dominant CB. Someone who just wins everything the air.

Jeeeezes....:banghead:

"Bale and Reguilon today flew to London on the same plane to complete their moves to Spurs from Real Madrid in the club's most exciting double-deal since Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa in 1982"

Agree but in terms of a creative player do you not think Ndombele can do the job?
He can absolutely but relying on Ndombele and LoCelso over the course of a long season is risky in my view. Especially with Ndombeles fitness and injury issues

Lloris
Doherty___Alderwerield_____Dier-___--Reguilon
Højbjerg
Ndombele_______ LoCelso

Bale_______Kane________Son

I'd swap Bale and Son. I think Son is right footed even though he plays on the left but Bale is naturally left footed and I think it would be better to get Bale playing 100% in his favoured position. He took Spurs to the CL in that position and I will never forget him repeatedly skinning Maicon who was one of the best RB at the time

Play him off the right so he can come inside. He won't be the same winger who blasts past full backs anymore, but let him come inside and unleash his left foot...

Bale spent the last 6 years playing on the right cutting in and scoring long range. He's taken Real to 4 UCL wins with goals in multiple finals. Bale is no longer the swashbuckling speed merchant that will skin the defender time and time again. He's heavier, stronger, more technical and will have to use his sprints more tactically.
Of course, the positions of Son and Bale will be more fluid but I see Bale fitting more on the right where he poses a huge goal threat playing between CB and opposition LB.
It's also easier for Son to score counter attacking goals playing an inverted role than with his outside foot.

We spent over £100m on these players last season, if they can't carry the burden of being our creative players then we have serious problems. It's time to get behind them I think and push them to be first team regulars rather than spending more money needlessly.

Badly need a midfielder that can last 90 minutes consistently and can confidently pass the ball forward accurately.

It’s like everyone forgets Etherington and Davies and Reid and Dawson.

;)

In honesty, I was more upset about the obvious blunder that I highlighted: Ardiles & Villa so famously came to us right after winning the World Cup in ´78. Ardiles even LEFT us in 1982 - on a loan to Paris SG (because of the Falklands war).

Also need a DM, not convinced with Hojbjerg plus he won't be able to play every game and Sissoko isn't good enough. Doherty plays very advanced, we need some quick DM to watch out for space behind him. Sissoko has pace but lacks in skill and Hojbjerg is too slow. But if we "only" get another CB and CF it will be a good window.

Here's the big question:

With Bale and Reguilon coming in today AND potentially a CB (Ruben Diaz? Monster?) and a 2nd striker -- some will need to go in the other direction to finance this spending spree.

In my view, we must NOT sell Aurier this year -- we need a second RB to rotate. And I would hate to sell Lamela -- he brings bite and 100 percent effort every game and is happy in his role. And while Dele has been a huge disappointment the past two years, I think bringing in these new guys is gonna light a fire under him. Do not sell.

But many will disagree with these ideas. Keeping in mind that only a few of the following will bring in a big payday, who would YOU sell?

Dele
Aurier
Winks
Moura
Lamela
Sessengon
Rose
Foyth
CCV
Gedson (return early)
Jack Clarke
OTHER?
