Not sure why people are dismissing Emerson so much. He wasn't good against Wolves but largely in attack. Skipp offers no more in attack and is less agile. Also I think people underestimate the role of a fullback. The idea of playing someone completely new to the position is a massive risk. I can't see why we would experiment when we're not in great form either. I appreciate everyone has their opinions but this right back midfielder suggestion is a bit mad to be honest.
Plenty of midfield players end up at full back. Trent started in midfield. Archie Gray if Leeds, very good midfielder, starred for England under 21 at last years under 21 euros, currently playing left back for Leeds.
I suggested it because Emerson is not very good at controlling a ball and passing. Crossing….forget it.
Emerson agile…really. Looks really awkward when closed down. I know he does his best etc etc but he is not really up to playing full back in our system. Probably best on the right of a back 3.

I like Royal but the thought of him receiving the ball from our keeper while facing our goal scares the life out of me .

Must win game. Think it’ll be another slog though, and fear we will get sucker punched again.

I just hope Destiny's fit to start. Ange wasn't 100% on that and we can't be without both full backs again.

Edit - ok I've just seen him in this arrivals video which is at least partially reassuring...

+1 for Sarr. Bentancur (I'm not doing this lolo shit) looked great in the short gap between returning from ACL and getting that ankle injury. Hasn't been up to speed since.

Bents and Biss need to avoid the typical casuallness they bring to their game, or we'll be turning over possession constantly.Neither of them make forward moves off the ball enough, so the onus will be on our FBs to run forward into spaces. Expect to see Palace overloading our vacant full back areas.

I'm so uneasy about our home games now. It feels way too easy to imagine us struggling and getting caught on the break. Really hope today is different!
