On my way up from Devon too. Train was bloody expensive so now sat on the M5. Wave as you go past 😔
Hope you get moving promptly! As soon as they announced the tv schedule updates I book the train tickets straight away hoping for no strikes! So far very lucky only 1 hour 30 mins left until I get into Waterloo!

You could arguably say all of the above about Richarlison too. But he doesn't offer the goals that Son does

Don't agree at all. Richarlison has his faults, but he's a centre forward, loves a physical battle and is dangerous in the air.

In my opinion playing with Richarlison in the team is like playing with 10 men. We need another striker or play Son up top with someone else on the left.

Really hope he proves me wrong but I think he’s not going to cut it for us long term.

like I said really hope I end up eating my words

I'm really surprised the amount of people advocating Son playing up front. We know Son will not challenge for any headers, is weak in physical duels and can't hold the ball up. I don't understand how that is even considered an option.
We're not really playing with a hold up man and are ad infinitum practicing low crosses and first time finishing, and he's an epic finisher, so I think there's some merit in him there, personally.

Absolutely buzzing to be going to this one:
•First game of the season
•vs Man.U
•New exciting attacking possession based pressing high intensity style of play
•New signings

Hoping we start like a house on fire, early pressure and goal, crowd to be rocking and we smash them 4-0!

💪🤞⚽️ COYS

Like playing with 10 men is very harsh and OTT imo.

Hope he bags a few today to get his season up and running.

Most important, to paraphrase Ange himself, would be to see progress in the performance. Not too fussed about the score/result (within reason). I’m sure it will be an entertaining match though.

My expectations are tailored too but it would be brilliant to go out and win today just to shut up the critics for a few days.

If we play like the second half last week then we'll win. If we play like the first half we'll be in trouble.

I know what Ange said about us not seeing Veliz for a while but might that have been just to dampen expectations?
Do we know if he has a work permit yet / has been training with the squad?

The only reason it’s occurred is because I’d have thought one way to settle him into English football would be a run out with the u21s but he isn’t with them today (Phillips is)

Honestly worried about this one.

United are still a counter attacking team at heart and could really cause us trouble.

I think it could be 4-0 (either way) or 4-4. As a neutral it is a must watch, as a spurs fan I'll be hiding behind the sofa.

Rashford will be a massive test of our new look defence.

When I saw the fixtures I knew that Brentford and United are two of the toughest games against our new style of football. A win here (with the performance to match) could mean we could do something special this season imo.

A clean sheet would be a miracle imo.

I’d be hugely surprised if Porro comes in for Emerson, to say Emerson got caught out defensively.. and suggest Porro fixes that is madness.

If we replaced Kulu with Porro for a game I’d understand it more. Though Solomon may also deserve a chance there. I think I’d switch Skipp for Sarr and keep the rest the same personally.
