Match: ___ Champions League - Quarter Finals 1st leg

When: ___ Tuesday 9th April 2019

Where: ___ Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Kick Off: ____ 8:00pm

Team Form: _____ Spurs DWLLW _____ Man City WWWWW ____ (All Competitions}

This is the first ever European meeting between us and Man City in what is the 157th meeting between us in all competitions. City have won 11 of their last 16 matches against us (D1 L4), with all those meetings coming in the Premier League. City have won their last 3 in a row.

We haven't faced an English team in an European competition since April 1973 when we faced - and were eliminated by - Liverpool in the 1972-73 EUFA semi final. City have lost all four of their European matches against English opponents, losing both legs of the 1970 - 71 Cup winners cup semi against Chelsea and both legs of last season's Champions league quarter final against Liverpool.

We are competing in only our 2nd Champions League quarter final, losng previously 0-5 on aggregate to Real Madrid in 2010-11; in all European competitions, we have been eliminated from our last 5 quarter final ties, most recently in the 2012-13 Europa League against Basel.

City eliminated FC Shalke 04 by an aggregate score of 10-2 in the last 16, becoming the 1st English side to score 10 goals against 2 legs of a European Cup / Champions League knock out match since Liverpool in October 1980 (11-2 vs OPS)

Kane has been involved in 17 goals in 17 CL appearances (14 goals, 3 assists); he has scored a goal every 106 minutes, the best ratio of any Englishman to have played at least 200 minutes in the competition

Leroy Sane has had a hand in 7 goals in his last 3 CL's games for City (4 goals 3 assists), scoring with all four shots on target in this time.

Of the remaining 8 teams, we have scored the highest percentage of CL goals in the second half this season (92% 12/13), while City have scored more second half goals than any other side (16)

Skybet are offering

Dele 40/1 to score from outside the area and 25/1 to score a header.

Harry 14/1 from outside the area and 10/1 a header.

Son 16/1 and Eriksen 14/1 from outside the area.

I'm on the Dele and Harry bets!

Can't wait for the raucous atmosphere. City really gonna be terrified when they see everyone sitting down in the South Stand.

We at Cartilage Free Captain put our heads together and came up with a list of Spurs tifo that they SHOULD be doing tomorrow night, but won’t.

I was at both legs of that semi final. My first visit to Anfield, aged 17.

Ray Clemence in goal for them that night.

Thanks yet again for the thread @Bulletspur .. Appreciated.

I’m weirdly confident about tomorrow, admittedly that confidence will probably be gone about 3 minutes after kick off but for now (y)

Would just love a clean sheet. If by someway, or somehow, we can keep a clean sheet, I'd be more than ok with that.

Other than that, 4 or 5 - 1 win, would be fine.

Apart from the first time we met Pep/City and inflicted his first PL defeat, pretty much every other game since we have been absolutely marmalised in the centre of the park and through midfield. We must find some solutions, get the shape right (Poch has often tinkered vs. this lot, and it's gone wrong), and not leave wide expanses for the Silva's and De Bruyne to run riot and control the game, otherwise it might be grim viewing.

It’s likley to be winks and sissoko outnumbered in a 2. Or possibly a diamond and we’ll get smashed up on the flanks. And even if we go wing backs they’ll get pinned back and lose the midfield battle.

In short, it’s gonna be a long painful night.

5-4-1 and harry shoots from 40 yards?

But seriously we need to get 10 men behind the ball then hit them on the counter up the wings and we've got a chance

Not really seen Poch do that in his 5 year tenure with us.
