Very disappointed. One of the worst performances of the season. Cant argue with the result. Any positives at all ? Maybe Werner. He put in a shift and looked good

You get the feeling that some of the more established players don’t have confidence in some of the newer/younger players….and hence there’s hesitation in our game.
Hesitation in our passes, threaded balls, runs etc.

We are still very much a work in progress and we keep bringing in new personnel who haven’t played much together yet.

Not brave enough and too slow. We could have picked up werners clever movement a few times but always chose the easy option.
Richarlson although not really at fault looks like when you have exhausted the sprint button on fifa.
In the end a really soft way to go out..

Despite City’s zillion chances it was one of those games where had it finished 0-0 it would have been a hard fought draw but because we lost late on then the criticism of not troubling them stands.

Not that it all stems from the attackers but Werner, Richarlison and Johnson is devoid of creativity and unpredictability. Not overly clever in possession either.
Richy ran all night and Werner kept making those runs but Deki didn’t give them anything to work with

Some good defending but overall we were poor. I think this was a good marker of where we are currently as a team. On a good line but have a way to go.

Well, no distractions now then. Get the players back, strongest 11 each and every week, full periods of rest between league games, and go all out to see how high we can finish this.
Calling the only cup competition we are still in a "distraction" is a bit of a piss take for me. Not that I expected us to win but I can't pretend I'm not gutted we're out.

City deserved it, pressure from start to finish. We defended well, apart from the goal, but lacked threat. We missed Son tonight, he's a thorn in their side.

We move on.

Bummer we are out. We need Sonny to have any success against City. His runs and pace behind their high line. Nobody else in our squad capable of that.

I really don't think we were that bad? We handled a pressure cooker attack for the first half and just couldn't find an outlet - unsurprising, given we were missing our best forward and best midfielder for the first hour.

Outclassed tonight, a really poor performance! City deservedly through and the goal was correctly awarded, weak from Vicario and I'm a huge fan. Very disappointed to be honest, so so poor tonight.
To be fair, Gvardiol had been doing that all night, a lot of the time it was worse than on the goal. They finally landed one ball right on the money. Vic needed more on his punch but then there wasn’t anywhere to land.
