One of Gil or Johnson has to come off. Can't carry both of them with this little of the ball and the defensive work. I think Gil has been more involved with some nice touches but he hasn't got the pace against Walker to make it a contest at least in a foot race.

It's frustrating at the moment because we keep giving away poor goals. But having said that, even away at City with a decimated side, we have played some of the best football I've seen at Spurs.

That passage of play where Cara and Neville were saying we need to play it long whilst we sliced through them from back to front was unbelievable.

It's hard not to feel impatient wanting the weaker aspects of game to be as good as that. I honestly think in a couple of seasons we will see something really special.

Lo Celso to get sent off second half? Feels about right for the way our season is going.

Who knows, has anyone here actually see Dorrington play? I think he probably could do worse and then that’s his confidence and career damaged and not off to a good start.
Na watching Royal on ahead of him could easily be knocking his confidence... If not it should be, he should back himself to do better than that! That's what we want from youth on the bench!

That's nonsense. Played almost every game for Sevilla in his loan spell. Called up to the Spain squad this year. Obviously has quality but he's not cut out for the Premier League
We'll agree to disagree.

We've posed a threat with ball, although more to our own goal than theirs. Once again, I think inverting the full backs immediately in our build up is causing more harm than good.

If it’s me, assuming Sonny can carry on I’d be taking Gil off, put PEH on, move Kulu RW and Johnson to LW.

Ange said Richy can only do 5-10 mins and not sure this is the game for Veliz but if Sonny is crocked then it might well be our only choice.

Gil was brilliant for our goal but, as a general matter, is too weak to withstand a press. Deki in the front line would give us a player who can hold the ball up, I’d look to bring on a CM, push Deki up and move Johnson to the left.

He works hard bless him, but Bryan is never beating Walker for pace or strength. We need someone who can match him. Maybe Johnson on the left, Kulu right and Donley 10.

If we play it right, we can get through the lines. We just have been too poor in possession.

The calmness had given way to panic.

If Emerson carries on like this you may as well give Dorrington a try.

Also players looking shattered and overrun all over the pitch.

Hopefully city are equally as wasteful second half...

As long as its only 1 goal advantage to City i dont Ange will put on Donley, Santiago and Dorrington. Hope i am wrong.

happy with alot of that. I’d rather see us trying to play out than just clearing it up the pitch and it coming straight back at us.
the intial play to beat the press has been good on the whole, it’s just been the next bit where we’ve played ourselves back in trouble trying to be too clever. There’s still opportunities for us but the two centre backs look like they’re going to cost us. I wouldn’t bring PEH on. His Mobility will be exposed and he will drag everyone back

99.9% the majority of pundits that use the word 'naive' have no idea what it means. Same as 'cynical'.

Hojbjerg would’ve been a better option in defence than Emerson.
There's a case for that imo over him playing in midfield, but wherever he'd come on including CM he's still a square peg with how Ange wants us to play.

I'm actually a fan of PEH btw and in Italy or for someone like Athletico I think he'd be a very good player again.
