I think I would be tempted to bring on Dorrington for Bryan, playing Emerson RB and pushing Porro up to RM to help with Doku. Either that or PEH for Bryan, Kulu RM, Johnson left.
Creative for sure. We very rarely see this kind of thing from managers though. Wouldn't rule anything out from Ange but I don't expect him to throw in a youngster against haaland unless he really has to

City just too strong for him. He can do a job for us.

I’d like to think the same mate but tbh, I’m not just basing it on today. Whenever I’ve seen him he’s done some nice things, he’s a tidy technical player.

A lot of the prem is power or pace though, he certainly doesn’t have the power as he gets regularly bounced off people to the floor, and pace wise, of course he isn’t slow, but when he pulls of a nice piece of technical play and earns himself a hard it’s great… but it’s often followed by him not having the pace to out space between himself and the defender, so he ends up just turning back and laying it off to someone.

Like I said, I think he is a talented player, I just think he’s been brought to the league which is the worst match possible for him.

Plenty of people happy to judge Gil on this game, but he's at least showing for the ball trying to make things happen even if he's struggling. Lo Celso just drifts around, no tackles, no dribbles, no shots, through balls... just very very quiet
I think we know that with GLC. We’re all still trying to work BG out I think.

He’s really neat and tidy but the lack of physicality is a major issue

He's got no real redeemable quality other than a bit of trickery imo. Can't control a ball, can't see a pass and is easily muscled off the ball.
That's nonsense. Played almost every game for Sevilla in his loan spell. Called up to the Spain squad this year. Obviously has quality but he's not cut out for the Premier League

Honestly, I now idea if we should change it up or not. I don't envy Ange's task

It feels like a worse half than the scoreline suggests. Our press has been passed through for fun and they've isolated Doku against Porro often. At the same time their press is a level above ours. It doesn't help that Emerson and to some extent Bissouma have been poor on the ball. Gil looks like a youth player, a lot of effort but not much else. Probably time to let the lad go elsewhere.

Son looks like he's tiring too. With Richarlison only being fit for 5-10 mins that means we might have to bring on a youth player. Talk about a baptism of fire.

Good to see we still play some good football with this depleted team against the champions. Gil, Emerson and Bissouma all have been poor though. Need more from Bissouma but may need to make some changes soon. Kulusevski motm for us so far.

Emerson and Davies obviously both having absolute howlers. Not their fault. Bissouma has been disappointing however, which hasn't helped us play out.
As lovely as the football is to watch, we'll only be effective with amazing centre halves (basically clones of Micky van de Ven who are strong, fast and can also play out). Essential that we get the right player who meets all 3, pay £60-70m if we have to.

Its almost as if this team is told taking safe options and protecting the ball are for p*ssies. There has to be a middle ground between boring football and utter stupidity. Its far less enjoyable when half the game you are worried about your stupidly high defensive line and high press failing and shipping 6

Unless injured, or because they are exhausted from running, if Ange puts on one of the kids for a starter that would be demoralising for many of the players. Needs to be carefully done.

Or go completely nuts and bring on Donley. To dare is to do. They know nothing about him. A wild card. And if he doesn't play well, no one will be mad at a 18 year old kid.
Is he a winger? Same Q for Santiago?

Like you say unknown quantities with absolutely nothing to lose.

I don’t feel that upset about things. If we had a full strength team and not a makeshift defence I’d be a bit more disappointed.
PS. Atmosphere worst In the league ?
If we had a full strength team we would still have a lack of proven quality sat on the bench.

I just really hope our fans keep it together. We’ve seen what this manager and team are about, and this is a team to be proud of.

Don’t let pricks like Neville and the others turn you. It’s not just about playing attacking football for the sake of it, it’s about the fact we played really well for 20 mins or so of that.

We’ve got so many injuries, and having to rely on a lot of squad players, and still looking so much better than last year. Just hope we keep the faith during this rough period.
