Outfought and out thought ! That is now 6 consecutive defeats against this lot in 2 and a half years. If you take it back four and a half years we have played them 10 times, and lost 8, drawn once, and won once.

Frankly that is appalling, and it demonstrates a deep rooted psychological inferiority complex amongst core players in this squad with members who have been around that long when we have come up against these.

We were told led to believe that a change of management by replacing Poch with JM would lead to a cultural change and belief that we could and would remove the shackles of a weak mentality when we went went toe to toe with big opponents.

I've seen no evidence of a change when that is put to the test against Liverpool, even Liverpool sides who have most of their key defenders and leaders out. It's the same old shit, we get bossed by them, have a few decent counters against them but fail to take key chances and they finish us off every time with clinical ruthlessness.

On Poch's last three games against this lot it reads played 3 lost 3.
On JM's CV for Spurs against this lot it reads, played three lost three. So where's this change of mentality. All he comes out with is, we lost but we were the better side, really ??

Slept over it and still pissed off over this big game and the weird decisions.

- we have won several points against big clubs with a 4-2-3-1 set up.
- why dont play Sissoko in one of the few games you could use him helping the RB to control Robertson and Mane?
- why play young Rodon who has strenghts in the air but we faced a team that does not play high balls
- why dont we play the more experienced Toby esp when we go for long balls towards the strikers?
- Doherty as a LB?
- taking off Aurier instead of Doherty
- Winks is not and never was a big game player

....

I really want Jose to succeed but that was a shit show by him and the players bar Pierre. We need a reaction now.

same as the terrible decisions vs Fulham. Sissoko RW and making changes in the 88th min when we were chasing the game way before this

Yet we gave the man who is supposed to be in charge of transfers a promotion! Sums up the aimless direction the club is going on the football side at the moment.
Tbf he has saved the club loads of money by not signing hardly anyone. No wonder he was given a promotion.

I’m so fed up with lockdown. So stressed, angry, fed up and just generally feeling shit about it. Spurs really aren’t helping at all and last night was the biggest kick in the teeth for me so far. Looking forward to it being over so I don’t have to deal with the anxiety of it.

Totally agree. One little thing to look fw to and now we are shit. I could take it if we were actually having a go. No disgrace losing to this Liverpool team but we are so passive.

Tactics are rubbish. This is not Tottenham. We are continually pl a striker who has not scored all season.

We buy a full back ((Doherty) who’s strengths were bombing on at Wolves and we play him as almost a 3rd centre half.

Toby - can someone tell me why he’s been dropped atm ?

Vinicius - I think he looks like a half decent player. Now Kane gets injured and we need him. Aaaah he’s only played ten minutes in the Prem.

We have a layer of middling players on good salaries who are stuck here. Our squad is not as good as we think.

A few years back we bought young players and we had an ethos. How many have slipped thru our net lately. The last being Eze.

I’m afraid that we are stuck with this cycle for a couple of years guys. During a lockdown and all the shit going on atm all I want is to be entertained and cheer some good football. ZERO CHANCE UNDER JOSE.

In my view he’s a dinosaur and Allardyce or Pulis in a fancy suit.

The horrible shitshow we all witnessed yesterday is both on the players and the manager.
I cant understand how mourinho thought it was a good idea to put on winks and lamela, keep doherty, put Son in a position he has never excelled in, starting rodon and davies as cb.
I actually think we did a good first half. The come second half, mourinho shake things up, makes silly subs and things fall apart.

The players are also to blame. We can all see that several of our players are not even close to good enough.
For christ sake, did we really expect to go from 1-0 down to winning with davies, rodon, doherty, lamela, winks, aurier??? against liverpool?

We had too much too soon this season. Massive wins, topping the table and Arsenal shite. Unless you can keep this up, the only way is down.
We were poor at every level last night regardless how Liverpool played . I do feel there is more in the players so Jose needs to earn his wage and sort it out. The formation we play has been sussed by other teams and at this level there is no mercy. Even Fulham looked good against us and could have won. The formation is wrong with the personnel we have. The players are very good but need a change. Remember Harry taking over and we went on a 10 match win. CHANGE. Jose needs to make changes in the way we set up and players will respond.
Jose needs to get his head out of his ars and take it on the chin-its awful football.

Couldn't write last night - too angry and was arguing with stupid Liverpool supporting husband about handball decisions. Anyway having slept on it - I agree with a lot others have said:-

  • First half we looked threatening at times and had Kane stayed on I have no doubt Son would have capitalised at some point (and obviously did bar the tiny offside). Once Kane was off we had no clue. Son to his credit was running around everywhere but being isolated upfront is pointless when there is zero service.
  • Line up - I think Rodon will be a quality player in the future but we should have gone with experience and started Toby IMO. Also as much as I don't always rate Sissoko, last night was a game where I think he should have started. If not should def have come on at halftime. Also 5 at the back against a team who hadn't scored in 7/8 hours!!
  • Subs - yes losing Kane is gutting (please not for too long I hope), but you have Vini on the bench and Bale. It is beyond me why Lamela and Winks were subbed on. Those halftime decisions will annoy me all day. I just cannot fathom the thinking there - esp with Lamela who couldn't make a successful pass if his life depended on it.
  • Credit to Hojbjerg and a couple of others who didn't completely capitulate.
Not sure what else to say really. Its just disappointing. Losing Kane is just the cherry on the top.

Am I wrong but it looked like Lloris was partially - or even fully - at fault for all 3 goals.

Also I thought Joses responses were clear and fair. We lost the games because of individual cock ups not because they ripped us apart

I still stand by the fact in the away game we deserved to win but this game we deserved f all

Being a self confessed poorly educated 77 year old I come on here to vent my feelings after being outclassed by a weakened Liverpool side and it hurts . But what hurts more is the grammar police people ; surely after such a disappointing game they could find something to say about the game . But no they are going thru the posts trying to find someone whose grammar is not up to standard . As I say I am self professed not the sharpest tool in the box when it comes to grammar . I suggest these grammar police people who are so offended by my posts put me on ignore or just do not read what I have to say .
It gets very annoying when you have just watched the team you love get outplayed and you then give ao honestly felt opinion on a game only to have a Mr Chips following you about to have a go at your every error please just give it a rest grammar police .
IF that is too much to ask move on to some other poor sod and leave me alone to wollow in my sorrow .
You grammar police people I am sure dont mean to but you come across as bullies.

yes losing Kane is gutting
Champions league final-got there without him. I feel he's been out of sorts recently. He has moments that mask his subdued performances. He'll probebely benefit with the rest. Lucas is more than capable as cover.

I feel the same but too old to care. Grammar police (like it). It hurts big time but we move on and play another day. Its not the losing, its how you lose.

watched it later - just awful. first half was even and had we got the first goal it had might have been 3-1 us. But after their goal it was poor.

Thats what I saw too, an even first half. However it seems some people dont like ths opinion and only their blinkered one should count.

I think once Kane went out of the game, the other players heads went. It was a little pathetic really, but plenty of our heads went too so can we blame them?

Was baffling that he wasn’t replaced with Vinicius though.
