Anyone else think the whole squad pre-match photo was a bit "let's enjoy the moment".

We should have been there to win.

Did Liverpool do the same?

Really does. Ironically his boots actually look rather large on his feet too.

Even the chance that fell to him where he tried to loft it over Allison, he was the last player I wanted the ball to fall to in all honesty, I just knew his attempt would lack any conviction.

It was a ridiculous attempt. No conviction. Just a little lofty chip.

How Erik Lamela must be feeling after watching Alli play like that...

That was a pen, but referee made a couple of annoying mistakes in their favor. Son's 'offside', ball's out of play for a corner right before the half-time whiste, Son's 'handball'. He also could've given Allison a yellow card for time-wasting (though he wasn't going full Foster).

Was it fuck a penalty. It wasn’t no matter how much you say his arms were out. It hit his chest and cannoned on to his arm

Mauricio Pochettino speaking to BT Sport: "I feel very proud about their effort, how we fight. We were unlucky, we concede a goal on a penalty. We were fighting, and we played so well in the second half. I feel so proud, a little bit unlucky. To start 1-0 down from the start was tough, we changed our plans but we are very proud of these players and these fans. We can be optimistic.

"That [penalty] was the circumstance we cannot manage or prepare for. You can never believe you will be 1-0 down after a minute. Mentally it was very tough, it’s about learning and experience, like Liverpool were in this position last year.

"I am so pleased to manage this group of players, but congratulations to Liverpool.
"The standards are so high, it wasn’t enough today. It’s a shame. You want to experience this again and repeat it. It is the best game in the world after the World Cup.

"It’s about trying, believing and building the journey so it happens again as soon as possible."

Absolutely gutted as thought the penalty was bullshit and then spent the whole second half convinced we were going to get a couple, but we couldn't quite find our touch in the final third today. Lessons to be learned but proud of the boys. Need a few astute moves this summer and then we'll push on.

It felt like that since we beat Ajax to be fair and I did mention it. Too much patting ourselves on the back for that result, as good as it was.

In reaching a champions league final we have over achieved.

I assume we can all agree on that because not one person I know thought we would get here....not one.

You can not describe overachieving as “failure”, or are you saying yes we overachieved surpassing all reasonable expectations but not by enough, because that’s equally ridiculous

We over achieved to get here. Ana amazing achievement by the club.

That doesn’t take away from the fact we were dreadful. And miles off Liverpool who deserve the trophy having been backed with money and their owners ambition after last years final.

What I would give for a league cup win....

No. Poch has explained why he wanted to do it already.

If you don't like that or agree with him then fair enough. But the reasoning is pretty clear.

I'm saying that to say the ref cost us the game is fucking victim mentality and fucking pathetic, i'm also saying your notion of the entire game plan going out the window is fucking moronic because the objective of the plan would have still be the same, to get a goal. Yes it has an effect mentally but we weathered the storm and they were fucking shit and we played fucking poor, we didn't need to panic about being a goal down until late on.
I agree as I think it was a pen so we've no one to blame but ourselves.
But it totally changed how Liverpool played and consequently how we played.
There was no Liverpool storm for us to weather, they got the pen 26secs in!
Yes there was no need to panic but you do need to get the ball in their half if you want to score. They were 1.0 up and perfectly happy to sit deep watching Verts, Toby, Verts, Lloris, Verts, Toby knock the ball about over and over again.
It was far too slow imo. Possesion for possesions sake when you are behind is daft.
We've played games like that this season where we are behind, the opposition sit deep and we just wank around until ooh fk theres only 5min left, better swing some balls in. Too little too late.
But there we are.
We didnt get humiliated. Quite the opposite. Thats why it hurts so much.

Maybe it’s just the alcohol but I’m so proud right now and love this team so much for giving me a final I really never thought I’d see

cos we're owned by Shylock, an owner who sees the club as an investment (and he's perfectly entitled to) and doesn't give a flying bird poo about glory or winning or backing the best manager the club has had in half a century

Not the name nor the comparison you should be using. Probably best to take this one down.

No complaints today. What a journey they took us on. The wins against City and Ajax are 2 of the best moments I've experienced as a Spurs fan. Today was just an example of how far we can go. More finals are on the way. COYS!

Amazing to get to the final. All I wanted was us to do ourselves justice in the final and not have a 'Spursy' moment.

Unfortunately, I don't think we quite managed that.

I think the team needs a refresh as what we have are not going to win anything...there's just something missing from their mentality when I these types of matches.

Personally, I think we need to cash-in on Toby and Eriksen. See what Liverpool did we the Countinho money...
