I don't like Frank Lampard but I respect him for not being biased as a West Ham/Chelsea man on Monday Night Football tonight. He said Jones' challenge was a red card.

Van Dijk got an extra game recently after Liverpool complained. 🎭

And I thought there was a precident for calling out teams who regularly challenge red cards - let alone a team that's got 4 already, I think, in 7 games... 🟥
It's as if Liverpool are still trying to get a player sent off in this one

Why does anybody take Neville seriously? On Saturday during commentary he said that Diaz was off side; suggesting he’d spotted something that the main commentator had missed. He’s a fraud and knob of the highest order.
He literally said he knows Jones hasn't 'done him' because he's done it himself. Shows what sort of character he is.

With regards to the red card, if Jones caught the top 1/2 inch of the ball then his foot was 8 inches off the ground when he went in for the tackle. That is high enough to be deemed a red in itself irrespective of intent.
I am absolutely speechless that Neville defended it.

Casemiro got a red for similar and he didn't come out defending that.

I swear he is saying it cause he didn't want to seem like he was pissing on Liverpool fans after the VAR decision and own goal.

The other factor is that has been a red card for YEARS!!

It isn't a new rule or something that has been debated for a while.

It has happened a great number of times in the last 10 years and usually ends with a red.

In fact, when it doesn't end in red, there is usually uproar that the player wasn't sent off and he is a "lucky boy"

And, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the response also include something along the lines of "Agreed, award the try" or "there was an infringement, no try", for clarity as well?
Yes. It's so simple...

"On field decision is goal/offside..."
"The player was onside. You may award the goal."

Sorry if this was already asked and answered on Saturday - but was Dier left out of the matchday squad, or was he injured?

I’ll be astonished if this isn’t spoken about on the Refs programme tomorrow night. We’ll likely get to hear the audio and Webb will explain exactly what the mistake was. The transparency will put to bed all the silly bribery rumours and all the talk of agendas and just show that it was the most basic of cock ups. A significant cock up sure, but the moving parts involved in this are pretty basic. One man thought they’d given the goal, another thought they’d disallowed it.

Liverpool will need to put their big boy pants on and get over it.

What referee programme is that out of interest?

I don’t think the audio should be released personally. If they do it for this one they’ll have to do it for every one going forward.

It’s called something like “refs mic’d up” it’s hosted by Michael Owen and he talks through the controversial decisions with Howard Webb. It’s on Sky one night and TNT the next (or it might be vice versa) Tuesday’s and Wednesdays I think.

In only 24 minutes on the pitch, Jota conceded 4 fouls. Udogie leads the league in fouls committed and he only averages 2.3 per game. There really is no argument against his sending-off for accumulated fouls.

We won, we were better, we were more disciplined and and we never gave up.
The idea of replaying it is daft, if you did that you have to stipulate the same players start including the substitute bench, Jones goes off at the same time as does Jota because those decisions were legitimate.
Will they agree to that? No of course not. This whole shit show is beyond belief.

Not sure but some of the social media abuse again was vile. These social media giants need to do something as it is too easy for these keyboard warriors.

A couple of the papers this morning saying they’ll release the audio. I’m not sure it’s a good idea. For some reason nowadays people seem to think they are entitled to know everything about everything. Sometimes things stay confidential for a good reason.

It’s not going to be very nice for Hooper and England. But I think it’s probably for the best to put it on the show, better to be laughed at than vilified as cheats or corrupt.
