Just remember guys city are going in all 4 comps. They have a great squad but they will surely slip up somewhere along the line with a bad patch of form. Pool are shaky and had Bournemouth at the perfect time. I think with united and bayern in the cl they will for certain drop points and lose/draw games.

We have got ourselves into a great position through sheer will and determination whilst hanging on in there. If we could just get kane and alli back into the 11 with eriksen and son we could hit a purple patch.
Under poch we have gone on long unbeaten runs so we know its possible.

Oliver's performance should be reviewed and rightly questioned.

That is the worst refeering performance I've seen in years. Absolutely dreadful and it honestly felt like it was intentional at times.

We were fortunate but there's been so many times we've played well and havnt got our just deserts - United a few weeks away being the most recent.

So it felt great and the importance of the win was massive and now we're definitely in a title race.
I don’t normally criticise refs too much but after about 20 mins it became obvious that Oliver was giving the advantage to Leicester. Quite shocked by this as he is definitely our best ref. Some of the decisions were quite ridiculous. Sonny’s yellow card just was not right and Maddison just fell over . It really was not a good display by Oliver.
Maybe the gods are with us. Poch is due a bit of luck.

No.

And no.
You've only got to look at how much contact is necessary these days for a penalty to be awarded to see that was a penalty all day long, Maguire doesn't touch the ball and clumsily makes contact with Son.
Why else do u think Poch is kicking off about it?

Absolute shit show from Michael Oliver. No complaints about their pen by the way, although if he was consistent he'd have booked Maddison.

Poch on Son booking
It was unbelievable, unbelievable. When you compare the situation with the penalty for Leicester, unbelievable. That’s what I said to Michael. Then you look at Liverpool and the last minute. Same referee. I’m more relaxed because we won. Do you think that we’re a team trying to cheat a referee? Come on, we’re one of the nicest teams on the pitch.

A lot of the blame for these decisions must rest with the media and pundits, etc, who have demonised diving. I don't believe diving is any different from many other offences, such as handball, pretending to be injured to get other players cautioned, fouls, 'professional fouls' (which many pundits treat very lightly as 'taking one for the team), etc. They are all forms of cheating, but the emphasis put on simulation has now prompted referees to pay particular attention to this offence, which has resulted in several players being booked when they have, in fact, been fouled, or even just fallen over.

I suspect Poch wants to kick off at his team given how crap we were today, but that will have happened in the changing room. The ref had a poor game overall and so he can be the target for a bit of letting off steam. Still doesn't convince me it was a pen.

There was no way it was simulation deserving of a booking though. There are occasions where it is neither a penalty or a dive. In this case, it was a penalty. No less of one than the one Leicester got, let's be honest.

A no for you as well...

Back from the game and a bit bemused by some of the " we were lucky" remarks, we weren't lucky we deserved the win but it wasn't easy, Leicester had a couple of great chances to score again but either they weren't good enough or our keeper was too good and he is one of our players but most of their chances and Hugo's saves were pretty routine to be honest.
That said I am not knocking Leicester, they played well, they worked hard, they made their chances and at least they tried to score unlike anyone else we've played for a while so respect to them.
We weren't great today but we weren't that bad and we were the better side, I was bemused by the Toby sub, presumably Poch decided to go three at the back to stiffen things up but it made us light in the middle and Leicester took advantage by taking control of the midfield, thankfully Poch saw that, brought on Wanyma and evened it up again, it worked well.
We were clearly working on the basis that Leicester would throw the kitchen sink at us and so there would be space for Sonny to exploit, the fact that that is exactly what led to the third goal was not lucky, it was the game we were playing and we executed it perfectly, credit where it's due.
now for the referees, how does an experienced referee have a game like that? He didn't award one foul against Leicester in the entire first half, that's ok if justified and if he balanced it but he didn't, he blew for fouls by us that were no worse and the linesmen were guessing on whether the ball went out and then who's throw it was, it really was a bit of a joke.
Anyway, we won and the sun started to shine when we left.

Yeah, but we need both Liverpool and Man City to drop points. What's the point of Man City pressuring Liverpool if they then build on a win to take top spot?

Anyway, agree to disagree, I think.
If we win out including against City, City can win all the others and we will finish above them. While I am not expecting that, I don't consider us 5 points down to City until we are with the same amount of matches played.

We definitely need Liverpool to drop points, no matter how many we win. Mathematically, Liverpool still has the advantage but if City keeps playing the way they did today, 'pool will start feeling the pressure.

Let's keep winning and see what happens.

Thank fucking Christ you have nothing to do with team selection or player recruitment.

Just man up and admit Eriksen made you look like a gimp. Ffs
I was going to give some credible reasons why despite his goal and assist today, which I thought were good by the way, why despite he being one of our better players in the squad, he has definitely been off form for many games, but wont bother to. The reason being is that your head is so far up his arse you wouldn't see reason

For most other managers maybe, but Poch very rarely criticises the ref, yet he's clearly digging out Oliver over this one.
You can 'No' all the posts you like, but you're having a bit of a mare in all honesty...it's not the 80s anymore, you don't need to break bones or draw blood for it to be a penalty.

Contrary to popular opinion I've never thought he was our best referee, never.

You won't bother because a cursory look at his stats since our injury crisis began shows what a load of utter shite you're talking.

But that's fine because you can talk utter shite but Eriksen will just keep on delivering the assists and passes and goals we need to keep in the race. That's what SC was invented for. But just expect to be called out for talking bollocks once in a while. That's ALSO what SC was invented for. (y)

The thing is - we all know Eriksen's not been at his very top. We also know he's been playing through pain most of the season. What makes him so fucking valuable is that despite the pain and the drop in form he keeps fucking delivering.

But, yeah, I have "my head up his arse".

mad to think it took us until the 52nd minute to be awarded a free kick for a foul, that must be some sort of record?

You willing to actually debate it, or just reply with no?

My first post on the subject said it all really. There was minimal contact at most, some of the replies I've had suggest it was clearly swiping him out (lol) or even inventing something happening (he was pushed by some mystery 3rd player!?).

And everyone can be top fans all they like but he then did throw himself over rather than running through and properly getting clocked. Just because other soft penalties (including in the same game.....) get given, doesn't mean this one should have for me. He tried to make the most of a tiny bit of contact, it failed, when it might not have done with several refs, but it did, move on. I'm more bothered about the crap performance I had to endure for 90 minutes today in all honesty.
