Yes but it seems counterintuitive to put a back line that you don't trust under more pressure by setting up not to press, dominate possession and as a result be forced to sit deep?

Well, that was interesting. Same issues as the whole season so far. Our usual players getting us out of trouble. Wasn't impressed with Conte's subs, but the lads kept going and played some nice attacking football at times. I, for one, am Conte IN. I'm happy to give him time to build a new defence. Our midfield and attack are fine (need a couple here or there); it's just our defence that needs firing into the sun and starting again. Obviously can't do that immediately, so we'll have to be patient.
