Eric has the "Hurry up and take the photo - I need another crap" look nailed here.

The commentator talking about whether Bale will be going on duty with Wales royally pissed me off. He should be nowhere near that team next month.
Brilliant that Jose has come and warned International managers of the danger of over using his players during the upcoming internationals after the number of games they’ve played.

I didn't realise how much I needed that. Everyone's really gloomy today because it's pissing it down and depressing weather and I'm still grinning like an idiot. :joyful:

Lamela is such a busy player, you'll never have to worry about lack of effort from him. Last night, I thought he was very good but at the same time, very frustrating - holding on to the ball too long. He did deserve his goal, however, after his immense work rate. Credit where it is due for him.

Aurier and Dier, I both thought, looked good. Not a fan of Aurier but busy up that right side and looked confident.

Reguilon showed the pace we want to see for a LWB when he made the great tackle.

Real only downside was 1. the slow start (The first half, we were very poor, I don't know what happened but we started playing very well second half) 2. Bergwijn looks like a tank but is far from that... He gets bounced off the ball too easily and should be more direct with his pace. Confidence and growth, I am sure, to come.

Good win with our busy schedule and very nice not to see Dele anywhere near the team.

Still so happy we won last night and the team played so well in that 2nd half. My biggest thing was how damn confident the penalty takers were. They stepped up and just smashed each one in like it was nothing, that is the weirdest feeling for me. To actually see that, when we have had so many miserable times before on penalties. Loved the confidence.

Couldn't watch the game last night and just watched the 2nd half.

Thought we played some really good football last night and worked the ball well on the ground, beating their press, and got into good attacking positions. Also we weren't afraid to mix it up and knock it into the channels.

Been really impressed by our set-up for the last two games and hope it's a sign of things to come.

Can someone give me the rationale why our best pen taker went 5th? If it went horribly wrong he wouldnt even be taking one. It's so stupid

Our best pen takers should be the first 3 as they are all guaranteed to take them
Imo, it was all part of Jose's games.
Do the unexpected and keep them on their toes. If we were behind at that point, Kane then stepping up is a big boost to us and a worry for them.

Edit. Also worth noting the players mentioned that we've been practising penalties.

As well because the stadium is empty, there isn’t as much pressure on the initial takers. The pressure only cane toward the last penalty, we had Kane they had Mount. Perfect

You always get the effort from Lamlea, but you rarely get the end product (goals / assists), as mentioned he holds onto the ball too long which more often leads to losing possession. I don't dislike him, but we need upgrades on the likes of him and Lucas if we have genuine aspirations of winning the league.

Not so sure on Lamela. As was noted during the match, he had few options to pass to when running with the ball.
Improve the movement up top, which will come over time and with confidence, and if he's still doing it then yes, question his ability.

Sacramento seems like such a great man to have round the team.
He is a genuinely nice guy. My father and brother in law met him and Jose in a hotel earlier in the year. Sacramento spent most of the evening with them, most chatting but obviously spoke about his background, development and future. They were really impressed by him. Down to earth, knowledgeable, intelligent, driven. Amazingly young too for that skill set.
Love the skipping in that video clip!!!!

This is unbelievable, he did miss a few opportunities to pass, yes! But the rest of his work last night was phenomenal.
Of course I’d like him to make those decisions to pass before he holds the ball too long but if he made the perfect decision every time he’d be a £100m footballer. Ever player will have a few wrinkles to iron out. There are very very few perfect players
Lamela was exceptional last night, man of the match for me. Really set the tone. This clearly stood out in the first half as almost Everyman dropped further and further back to let Chelsea have free run of the park.
He’s pushing starting XI for me, easily a playing sub if not.
effort, desire, work rate, genuinely caring exactly what we need. And to be fair what we saw from the whole team second half on last night.
Imagine Dele, with that level of commitment!
