Win tomorrow because we have too. Burnley have beaten both Liverpool and Villa so able to have a good day. I feel same team as WHU . Jose needs to find the correct balance/ formation sooner raher than later.big games coming up.

Generally Burnley score once or not at all on the road, with only freak exceptions in recent seasons.

Score 2 and we win. Pick a team that has the creativity to unpick the lock. But do Jose and his back room team have any discernible attacking patterns, beyond counter via Kane, or crossing by Reggie, again most effective on the counter? I havent seen evidence.

and stop giving away stupid free kicks and corners.

good interview by Pope on 5 live, hope he has a mare though and the ref picks him up for time wasting early

Optimistic for a Spurs win today. Would like to see a Rodon/Alderweireld CB pairing.

Think we could well have plenty of possession this game, so here's hoping we can show plenty of movement in the final third to capitalise on this.

I think we win this, and win this well.

The 2nd half against West Ham and the form of bale has given me some belief. Jose has to start turning this around ASAP and on paper, this is the perfect fixture to do so. No excuses - and please try Rodon today..

I think it comes down to who Burnley can or cannot field today. Their top three goal threats are all out or maybe out. Which means we’ll probably see a solid back line of four in front of a solid back line of four.

Their game plan is simple: defend with a lot of discipline. Squeeze play into the middle of the pitch. Or when it does go out wide, just make sure Kane and Bale are being marked.

They know, that with the exception of Tanguy, we don’t have City like players who have the deft skill and touch needed to break through two blocks of four.

They will look to lump the ball forward, to one of their big dudes, who will likely out wrestle Sanchez if he is playing. Big dude will try to either win a foul or find McNeil to swing in a cross. Their goal scoring approach will be contingent on set pieces. They also won’t change anything about their style of play if they go down 1-0 by HT. They won’t come at us at all, until after the 80th min, if we still are only up by 1 goal. Very likely a similar approach even if we are up by two after 75mins. As they know we are mentally weak... so, concede 1 in the final 15 mins, there’s an excellent chance we shit the bed and gift them another goal or two.

So... our approach is to come out the blocks flying. All our attacking players need to move on and off the ball swiftly and make quick decisions. Don’t let up in the opening 30. Keep them back peddling. Which means, we can’t have players walking around with their hands in their pockets. We need to match and surpass their energy levels.

Most importantly, we need focus and belief. If we can maintain focus and believe we are the better team, that will manifest in how we play. Can’t approach the game like we did with West Ham. Yes, they are doing well. But we were listless in the first half. Passive and fearful. No one can win when you play like that.

If these guys want to press for a place in the top 6, win a trophy, then tomorrow is a make or break game. But that doesn’t mean they approach it with caution. No... we need arrogance and swagger to win. Fortitude and courage. Above all else, they need to fight for each other. This game is our ‘shit or get off the pot’ moment for this season. It will set the stage for what follows. Win... and I truly believe that triggers a return to form. Lose... and I don’t see how the team finishes any higher than their current position. Forget League Cup and forget Europa. And bye bye Jose.

I want us to fuck them up.

why? You’d have seen that anyway. It comes down to how we play.

Sounds like Wood will start though.

I don't think people forget what he used to do. But we won't forget how he acted and helped contribute to our downfall because he decided to leave. You wouldn't want another player like that that would switch off like he did
Did he switch off or did he simply deteriorate as a player from late 2018 onwards?

I would like to see Son, Dele and Bale start behind Kane today. No clue what we will get though.

The team picks itself, no excuses today for going negative.
Not sure about the team picking itself. I've more chance of getting the lottery numbers right than guessing the correct starting 11.
Will Moura start? Will Bale start? Will Deli start? Will Doherty start? Will Sanchez start? Will Toby start? Tanganga? Etc etc.
Thats part of the problem imo. Wonder when the last time Lloris had the same back 4 in front of him for consecutive pl games? Have no idea but it seems different every week.

People hoping for both Dier and Sanchez to be dropped for this game are setting themselves up for disappointment.

Ya know what i am saying. Or, maybe you are not clueing in on the context. Meaning our boys are already struggling with confidence and form. They need a win to get some momentum going. Lose, and we fall further into the well of despair. Therefore making difficult to see how we would win that cup in our condition. Whether it be the round of 16, qtrs, semis, or final, I can’t see it happening. This Burnley match is a bellwether game for Spurs.

Sorry if you read that post and it irked you. Which I‘m guessing it maybe, kinda, perhaps did, based on the words you used, indeed, your comment can be interpreted as either facetious or taking the michael or just mocking. Cool, cool, cool.

Nevertheless... no, I am not under the impression that if Spurs lose this game it’ll disqualify them from the competition‘s upcoming fixtures. Just pointing that out, so you don’t assume I am a complete Doris. Which I can be.

Me talk dumb, sometimes. Mea culpa, Hughy. ?❤?
