Well said. I hardly ever go to games now, but I found from the 90s onwards to 2010s when I was going fairly regularly, I was getting angry so often at the negativity from our fansJust back from the game. I really enjoyed that. Unlike the moaning fuckers who sit behind me who I doubt would even be happy if we won 10 nil. They must have such shit lives.
Sorry. Had to vent. They piss me off so much. I want to take my son to a game but I don’t want him to have to listen to it. Makes me annoyed.
Anyway. I thought we played well. Plus Conte got to try out the 352 for the last 15 minutes, which he will have been happy with although it looked like it needed work.
From the 60s to the 80s, when I went the most, home and away, I spent a lot of time having rows, at a safe distance mainly, with oppo fans. Often having to be quick on my feet and in my brain , as was never into hooliganism and violence
But sometime in the 90s and from then on in it was way more likely I would have a row with one of our supposedly own
And given they were often sat within punching distance it got a lot closer to violence then ?
Never happened fortunately, dont know if the change over the years was because I morphed from a star struck kid to a liberal hippy to a grumpy old git, or our fans became so much more unsupportive and too often a disgrace to the shirt
Probably a bit of both, and more besides
Anyway I feel your pain
It's definitely good for my blood pressure and probably what's left of my good looks that I keep away from the Lane ?
