Bergwijn and Hojbjerg were great signings.

Gedson, Sess, Clarke and Ndombele were seemingly not.

Bergwijn is a platinum player - proper footballer. More of these types of signings, please!

I can’t say enough good things about Stevie. This who half he’s been a class above. His passing, understanding of the game, weight of pass, vision, unselfishness, and of course his lethal shot make him so so good. What a buy, he’s genuinely a superstar in the making. Love the guy

I don’t know where all the negativity toward Sess is coming from? He played some great passes, worked hard to bomb up and down the left and nearly scored with his right foot. That overlap with Bergwijn looked like it has a lot of potential too. Was I watching something else?

It’s the Dutch DNA! They produce wonderful technicians and players who are decisive and amazing decision makers. Picking the right time to pass, make a run, have a go at goal, etc. is so crucial in being a top player. Stevie has it in spades.

Not kneejerk because of the goal, but I'll be surprised if by the end of the season Stevie isn't an automatic starter. With him and Son and possibly Dele interchanging he could be as important as Son and Kane this season.

Clarke and Sessegnon are both ridiculously young. It's way too early to be saying that about them. There was a lot of good stuff off the ball from Clarke today, but he definitely needs to improve on it.

most of the negativity came from his 1st half performance, he was better in the 2nd half at lb.

Aurier still can't beat a man. We found him on the wing so many times in space from excellent passes and all he did was pass it back to CCV
Meanwhile on the other wing Sessegnon is still too timid- can't see why we pursued him for so long

So it all had to come through the middle

I think the best thing to come out of the past week is the solidity of the defence. We've not conceded a goal from open play and most opposition chances, seldom as they have come, have been dealt with by getting to the ball quicker and having good organisation and good technique.

Decent few pre-season games, good for fitness - Dier, White, Cirkin, Bergwijn and Dele (more yday than today) the biggest positives for me. Few concerns though:

1) We could conceivable end up playing 50+ games this season. You can defend line-ups and performances like today all you want but the reality is that the vast majority of those players will contribute at some point this season, and more than a few look utterly devoid of confidence and, on current form, shouldn't be anywhere near a top 6 squad.

2) As a more general point, we really need some creativity. At the moment, Kane, Lo Celso, Bergwijn and, strangely, Toby and Dier, look to be our biggest creative threats. Realistically, though, you want Kane on the end of creative balls and Bergwijn appears to be behind Lucas in the pecking order, leaving only GLC (who isn't actually hugely creative) and our CBs to try and create. Will really struggle against bottom-half sides who sit deep unless we either (a) turn things around with Ndombele or (b) replace him with more technical midfielders.

3) Sheer number of players missing without explanation is rather odd - GLC and Sanchez not involved but at the stadium, Winks and Tanganga nowhere to be seen, and Kane's preseason looks like it'll be two 90 min games for England over the next couple of weeks, which isn't ideal. Need to get some of these players back and fit before the Everton game otherwise that side might be a bit of a shambles.

4) Desperately need a backup nom.9 as neither Son nor Lucas can do what Mourinho wants when they start up top, and it really affects our game from back to front. We already knew that though - big two weeks for Levy.

Better up front when Son, SB & Dele were on. Thought Sess looked better as a LB than up front.

Really hope Moura is nothing more than cover & I'd like to see someone else rather than him in the squad he seems to have simply given up after the Ajax game.
