Yeah the attackimg play was sumptuos at times.

Had we finised some of those moves, it would of been the best football Ive seen from any team this season.

But the final ball/finishing let us down.

We need to be patient, it will come togther.

I think we'll have a very strong second half to the season.

But this festive period is going to be tough.

We should buy Harry Kane in the January window. He's a decent finisher. Could be worth 20 goals a season.

Home from the game and disappointed to lose the game but not disappointed with the players. We played our game and created plenty of chances with a makeshift side and that's all I want to see. Emerson and Davies two full backs playing as Centre Backs didn't let us down but second half Villa spread the game wide making space through the middle to exploit that and it was no coincidence they caused us trouble with free kicks and corners. I still think we deserved something from the game and if these players had had a few more games together we would have got it.
Is that u Gerry? I’m behind the guys and the team, but we can constantly make excuses. We should have won’t that game.

we need to stop making excuses and actually compete.

What if Kane had a point?

“We can't win 'em all, but isn't that what makes the victories so darn special?” - Can you imagine Ferguson or Guardiola or any other serial winner in any sport saying that?
Neither Fergie of Pep won all of their games and certainly not in their first season!

Regarding Kane…honestly that’s just cheap talk and we certainly don’t have another “mentality” compared to clubs like Bayern or City. That statement from him was full of arrogance.

We are all disappointed when we lose but that doesn’t mean we should start whining around like little girls and completely ignore the progress we made under Ange.

We should have won that game I'm not making excuses and we did actually compete that's why I was disappointed we lost. What we didn't do was all fall back and defend the one goal lead because that's not how we compete anymore.

Who’s saying that they won all their games in their first season??

Who’s ignoring the progress made under Ange??

I guess we all have our own standards we set. Some are higher than others. You have to demand we win as a fan. Demand it. It‘s Contagious. Nothing wrong with it.

Which nine?

(n)

Romero
Micky
Sarr
Madders
Richy
Solomon
Bissouma

We had six players from what would be a starting eleven on the field today, not sure where the other nine would slot in, and Solomon, Richy are not first team choices as you include them in those "nine" missing.

Four i have listed would be probable starters, Richy, Solomon being the odd one's out.
Just going by what Ange said post match

Honestly that’s just ridiculous…u can’t go into a season and demand to win every game. Losses are part of the game and it’s not the end of the world if we loose some games in a row. What counts is the process we make as a team and anyone who’s denying the fact that Ange has brought us forward and developed the team is delusional.

I think your missing my point.

No one is denying Anges progress.

Yes you can demand that we win win win. Is it going to happen? of course not. But set the bar that fucking high And live by it. Let the youngsters see how high they need to aim.

“it’s not the end of the world if we loose some games in a row” - not the end of the world, of course not. But that attitude is not a winning mentality.

Let’s hope so. The green shoots are definitely there. Problems begin when it drags on for too long and the likes of Romero, Bentancur start to have their heads turned, and you can’t blame them. Timing is critical.

Over to you Mr Levy….
By then we shouldn't be needing half a dozen signings anyway. We should just need a few so if we have to replace a key player it's not so bad. Selling Kane was much tougher because we had a number of signings to be done without needing to replace him too. Also for argument sake if Bentancur left you have Bissouma, Sarr and Maddison showing that they can have us at the top of the table. All the top teams lose top players.

It's essential for us as fans to recognize that demanding a win in every game sets the bar unrealistically high. This not only puts undue pressure on the players but can be discouraging for the youngsters in our squad who are still developing. Let's maintain a realistic outlook, understanding that growth involves setbacks.

Youre missing a big factor though.

Richy and Solomon may not be starters but you need fresh legs at 60-75 mins in this system and all teams need to rotate the attack.

For the first few games we had Perisic and Solomon come on and really help us step up a gear.

Today we only really had Donley - a kid.

That’s fine mate. You keep your “realistic” bar of 3 wins out of 5 or whatever you consider acceptable. Guess what….. Champions perform under pressure.
I’ve never heard a youngster who was discouraged by winning. Pressure makes dimonds and that.

Why work with deadwood! Use the Academy... I think these results would be easier to take whilst giving youngsters valuable experience... We've seen deadwood lose games many times before. That is my only slight gripe with Ange so far.... Keep being bold by blooding in the future.... Don't give the dross any minutes at all...
Great idea. Up to City next week with Dorrington and Donley starting. every chance of getting battered.
probably destroy them.

Disagree with that last line to an extent.

- Complain abotu amount of games.
- Complain about fouls and refs.
- Complain about VAR.
- Complain about weather.
- Complain about City being able to spend 60m on defenders.
- Complain about kick off times.

Liverpool play victims all the time and it actually helps them.
Everton’s turn now

Youngsters in our squad shouldn't be burdened with the pressure to win every game. Embracing losses as part of the sport allows them to learn and grow without the constant fear of failure. It's through challenges and experiences, both victories and defeats, that they truly develop and hone their skills. Let's foster an environment that encourages their progress rather than placing unrealistic expectations on them. COYS!

Agree to disagree. I say lets be utterly ruthless and say this club wins and does not accept anything else. Let them know early if its not for them than they are not for us. No sportsman should ever embrace a loss. Learn from it yes, embrace it no. Every loss should fucking hurt.

Would it? Football doesn't work like that. If we score one of those chances the game changes and Villa adopt a different approach.

Again I'm not criticising his willingness to keep playing this way. Just that I don't see the point in keep playing players that definitely don't fit and we are looking to move on, over academy players who, according to all the club statements when Ange was appointed would be one of his priorities. It was according to DL one of the main reasons he was appointed.

I don't think it was 'brave' to bring Skipp on for Gio when we were 2-1 down, In fact I think it's exactly what Conte would have done.
Did he not take Gio off because he only played on Thursday in South America and has hardly played this season. Klopp took Nunez off Vs City for last 10 mins probably because Just back off the plane from South America.
Ange only been here 13 games. Cannot expect him to chuck boys in all over the place.
Watching Donley for the under 21’s, not sure he could keep up with the pace of first team football. Anges midfield have to run, and run some more, not sure he does.

Winning every game shouldn't be our sole focus. It's about the journey, growth, and the collective progress of our club…

Sometimes we forget that the unity and development of our club matter more than the specific position on the table.
Building a strong, supportive family environment ensures sustained growth, not just in terms of results but also in the development of players and the club as a whole.

Let's focus on fostering this unity and development, knowing that success will follow in its own time. COYS! 💙

Demanding to win every game is properly idiotic

I'd love to sugar coat that

But no...it's idiotic
