So we’d have one day extra rest before the second leg. ?

I think we were the much more dominant team once sissoko came on. We had them on the ropes on midfield but we were totally shocking going forwards. Ud like to think that eriksen alli and moura could do better that that.
I think we are well in this. Get son and winks back in and go toe to toe with the feckers.....son will kill em.

If we didn't already know before todays game, our players are absolutely knackered & theres very little room to rotate, getting this far is a huge bonus & we must secure cl football for next season & actually add to our squad significantly, not just 1 or 2

Foyth Beat more players in the 10 minutes he was on than trippier did all night. Seriously frustrated. But it’s only half time. Thank god.

Yeah, I agree. But we’re a disjointed mass at the moment and Sissoko and Son will hopefully be the glue that holds us together. Trippier is dreadful though- he’s a weak link that any opposition should exploit

Got to say not overly impressed with Ajax at all really. They wouldn’t finish top 6 in the prem.

Us? Laughable first twenty minutes. Big game players hiding. If we get good money for these so called big game players and we reinvest, we’ll be more than fine.

Part of our inability to make thatbextra step are these players in particular.

I thought Rose and Llorente played their roles very well tonight.

Seems odd to say but I genuinely think a Sissoko / Foyth pivot could help us over the next few games. We need players who are comfortable on the ball, and Foyth looks very composed.

I want Foyth at RB and Vertonghen as LB. As long as Sissoko is there we can line up with one of our two defensive mid meatheads.
Eriksen, Dele, Lucas and Son going forward.

We can still do this but there were some disappointing performances out there . For their goal the defensive line was ragged think Trips and Jan keeping them on side but what exactly was Rose doing.
Dele just doesn't look up to this level just too slow and not sure Eriksen would get into this Ajax team.
What a difference Mousa made when he came on (has got my vote for player of the season) .
Next week with Mousa and Sonny in from the start we have hope , they have conceded at home but first and probably more importantly Bournemouth have to be despatched first to get CL again next season .

Eriksen and Alli seriously need to buck their ideas up too if we're to have any chance.

He won so many headers it was criminal. Nobody playing off him or prepared to play off him

I'm still angry about that lack of performance. Llorente needs binning at the end of season.He doesnt fit the fast counter style. Really controversial but theres too many injuries. Probably too much training, and not enough rotation. Half the squad needs selling on. The other half need a larger support squad for rotation.

Players to keep :- son,sissoko,eriksen,alli,moura,rose,vertonghen,lloris,kane, up and comings like winks,foyth,parrott
Sell 6 or get rid like davies,dier,wanyama,llorente, janssen, sicknote lamela. Promote some new young blood.

Harsh but i'm tired of an injury list a mile long, and deficient players. Not fussed about being critiqued on this, just really fed up.
To be honest i'd love to see spurs in the final, but on the other hand itd let the club off the hook over transfers ,amd paper over the cracks.

Im annoyed too because apart from the 20 minutes they were there for the taking. They are a slick slick team going forward no doubt but we got through them on a number of occasions but just didnt have the attack without Son and Kane. Crossing aint going to work, their defence and keeper were lapping these up.

Second leg i think we will be a more attacking threat with Son... Ajax will score make no mistake about that but I think we will score a couple if not three.

This aint over by any means and if someone offered me 0-1 at HT to take back to Ajax I would have done it in a heart beat. We will have a fully fit Sissoko (who was magnificent tonight), Verts back, id play Foyth right back and have Son up front with Lucas Dele and Eriksen.

Just such a shame we didnt have Kane, Son, Winks, Lamela and Aurier tonight and available.
