We need continuity at the back so it’s Toby and dier for me , IMO the best pairing we have , only 5 games to go so no more experimenting. I would keep aurier and Reggie, peh lo celso and lamela , Lucas bale and Kane .
Son ndombele Bergwyn to come on if we need them

You think Toby & Dier is a better pairing than Toby & Rodon?

I shall politely disagree, and say that Rodon should play every available minute left of the season.

He's quicker than Dier, better in the air than Dier, has more "in game awareness" than Dier, communicates & organises better than Dier and is more likely to be the future at the heart of our defence than Dier.

And I say all of that as one of the very few people on here who actually likes Dier and doesn't think he's half a bad as is often proclaimed.

How do you figure? Several games now Lucas has been better than Son but yet you want to retain Son at his expense. Contrary to Mason's and Mourinho's team selection, Son is off form and should have been rested. His cup final performance is a testimony to this. In my opinion if we had had Lamela Bale and Lucas from the start, and benched Son more than likely we would have won. Dropping Son is not a knee jerk reaction on my part as I have been saying this for several games now. (I know you did not mention Son but you implied he would be in your starting 11)

Good point. I love Son. Same way I used to love Daws and wanted him playing every game. It's my personal bias coming out. I'd probably prefer Lamela over Lucas but again, personal bias.

Son has had 2/3 of the season to play his way into form. There’s nothing wrong with benching a good player if he isn’t justifying his place.

Dele would never get this much leeway.

If Rodon is going to be ahead of Dier next season (provided Dier is still at the club then), then we should be giving Rodon as much game time as we can for these last few remaining matches so that he’ll be ready for next season and also getting used playing with the other regular starters.

We’ve all seen and know what Dier can do but having one good game in the FC Final shouldn’t be a reason for him to get a starting slot.

Rodon has hardly gotten much game time since he’s been here and he’s not performed badly whenever he played for us.

You forgot to mention that he’s never tried to beat up his own fans but I guess it’s still early days in Rodons case.
