i believe we could get Granero AND Albelda for less than 18m.

Albelda shouldn't cost much at all. He'll be 31 this September and has hardly played a game for Valencia all season. Any fee would be nominal. The issue would be that he's on a long-term big money contract at Valencia, and Levy (with some justification) doesn't like giving lucrative long-term contracts to ageing players.

Me too. Although that wouldn't be hard. Next name change, he's already pencilled himself down for 'MrsJenas'.

Just jokes, Mr DC.

yes yes Mr Bill :)

I know I spend far too much time on here defending JJ - but grrrr it just gets me the way some people slag him off - :)

I was more impressed with KPB when I've seen him at younger level. That boy has the lot. He's just playing in our first team as if he's the demented lovechild of Steffen Freund and Stephen Hawking.

Best laugh I have had all week, brilliant!

If we are going to be linked with any players..... and we are! - them the likes of Modric & Arsharvin are ones I would want to be linked with.

Actually signing them, however...............

Luka Modric may even end up at Barca as he would reportedly prefer a move to Spain. But if he was to come to the EPL then Liverpool and Woolwich i think would definately be at the front of the queue offering the CL footie that we crave.

modric can play on the wing but has been excellent through the middle, i think he lacks the muscle to play that role in the prem, but I see him wide left playing a Nedved role.

I actually think the biggest areas we need to look at are GK, CM(maybe x 2?) and LM. Then maybe bring in a few swaud players to cover RM, and RB.

We will never crack the top 4 with Jenas and Zokora

For me the best option is Christian Poulsen. Rate him very highly.

I'd be prepared to give Boateng another season.

Hardly the same type of player as Modric, though. He's the archetypal midfield destroyer, and from what I've seen of him pretty limited otherwise.

Really, we're making more or less educated guesses based on Ramos' known preferences at Sevilla, with the assumption that's the system he's envisaging us playing next season. We also have two big unknowns: will Berbatov still be here, and will King be able to play a meaningful number of games?

good find

Looks like his price has dropped from 18 to 12, so we should avoid the guy who has definitely lost it

If we sign modric it will be as a no.10 in a simialr way to if we went for Riquellme (who i'd have instead despite the age becasue it would be proper bo! to have riquellme in a spurs shirt)

It would be proper bo! I love proper number 10's like Riquelme.

I totally agree that JJ is a box to box midfielder and our most important midfielder at that. But i do worry for him that he doesnt fit into Ramos' plans. In a 5 man midfield like Chelsea play, JJ would fit like a glove (in a similar way to Lampard).
