Tottenham are ready to listen to loan offers for Ryan Sessegnon after a U-turn from Jose Mourinho. The Portugese had put the block on the 20-year-old leaving Spurs this window after earmarking a major role for him this season.

mellow out, it's not like we're selling him on.. he's in dire need of game time, so a good loan spell should hopefully do wonders for him.

This is all for sess' benefit I feel this is not the end for him with spurs. He needs to be playing 30+ games this season.

A loan to another prem team would be ideal. Ajax was mentioned before I would would almost pay Ajax to take him and help his development!!!

I'd rather keep Sess as back up and sell Davies if Reguilon is coming in to be first choice.
Sessegnon is presently less than half the footballer that Davies is. His defending is sketchy and his attacking is hesitant. Davies is Mr Reliable and, very occasionally, does something brilliant. If we're about to buy Reguilon, who is an attacking wing-back style player, we need a more conservative option for tactical flexibility, which would be Davies.

Also, Sessegnon needs to play weekly if he's going to develop. He won't play weekly with Reguilon in the side, even less so if Davies is also on hand.

Would prefer a lower end prem team. Kinda seen what he can do in the Championship. However, the most important thing is getting him game time.

Glad that Mourinho has come in and at least sent a few on loan instead of the stagnation we saw a few endure under Poch.

People seem to have high hopes for Sessegnon based on the player they think he is. He did well in the Championship, but big flaws were evident even then (reminded a lot of the hype Tom Ince one got), and since then he had a poor season in the prem with Fulham and then didn't play for us for a year. I fear a year on loan would show his shortcomings, rather than prepare him for us.

I’ve said about selling Sessegnon previously but now think we should keep him,not even loan him. Just think what he could learn from Bale.

I do not understand this move, why are we trying to thin our squad with such a congested fixture list and after all the injuries last season? We should be keeping backup players to have some squad depth for once, especially in attack.

Bale is homegrown which is probably a reason why we can loan out Sess.
Sess is under 21 so does not take a squad place. But we do not need Sess and Cirkin. Depending on outgoings one at least needs to go on loan to a premiership club. If we sell Aurier and no replacement I would send Sess on loan as Cirkin can cover both sides.

I think we'll be okay in attack there's a lot of depth there. Also Sess needs to play, we don't want another Onomah situation, he needs to find his feet and a bit of confidence.

He'll get plenty of games if he was the main back-up.
Davies is not that reliable as well as being dull, slow and unenterprising
he is clumsy and gives too many free-kicks away on the edge of the area.
He is almost agoraphobic, sees space ahead and checks back.
He has very little upside compared to Sess.
I don't think he needs to play weekly but needs to be in and around the squad
and play more often.
It might give him more confidence which is what he is mainly lacking.
It's now or never for him I fear.

I have to agree. I think players who don't attack often get protected by being labelled as reliable. He offers no attacking outlet or creativity, and he isn't even particularly solid. Can be easily beaten in a one on one and leaves space in behind, massively exposed by lack of pace. Being equally average at left back or in a back three isn't worth keeping him around for.

Respectfully, I couldn't disagree more.

Sess was effectively 3rd choice LB (behind Davies and Rose) and 3rd choice LW (behind Son and Bergwijn) this past season as we went through a huge injury crisis and played around 700 mins (around 7 to 8 games cumulatively). Now that we add Reguilon and a more capable Tanganga/Cirkin at LB as well as Bale (who will expect to play every game) I see no space for Sessegnon to get rotation time.

Davies on the other hand is very reliable in that he does what the manager has asked of him. You may consider him unenterprising and dull but I see him has level-headed, defensively disciplined and its clear that he is playing a role that is less wingback and more defensive and narrow fullback. With that in mind, he shouldnt be a first choice option but is a perfect and reliable back up option.

Sess needs to get out on loan and be expected to deliver every game to help with his confidence and to get used to the expectations of being first choice

"Major role". Where's that quote coming from? First time I've heard of it
