Anyone else think if this was sorted out the deal should've been done by now? I've heard 1) Sotton have no option
2) Player wants Spurs
3) Levy is in Madrid to do it

But it still isn't official.

This is such a crap piece of journalism; if Southampton have a contract which allows them to sign the player for £7m so be it, that doesn't guarantee the player will accept their contract offer. Don't know why the papers think Southampton can bypass employment legalities and force someone to sign an employment contract, they would get taken to court themselves.

All the contract would stipulate is that Southampton only have to pay a £7m transfer fee and get to speak to the player first. All Toby has to say is that he's not interested in signing for them and the matter is closed.

TA would have had to agree to these terms before he went on loan to soton, so maybe the problem is he has signed a contract saying he will sign for soton if they bid the buy out clause amount. It may not be as simple as the player now says no. I wonder if it comes to the point we let soton buy him for the 6.8 and they allow is to buy from them for the 11'mill.....?
