I think we're in for both, but we're being clever with how we're handling both transfers...using the Son deal, the way its broke, to exert pressure on West Brom.

Hopefully end up with both on the basis Lamela leaves.

Gave this a *like* BUT I still don't want Lamela to leave

@dw_sports: Perhaps the breaks should be applied to all the Son to #THFC talk. @SkySportNewsHD state he is in the squad for tonight's game.

This could be 100 pages by tonight.

Interesting to know whether he'll be in the stadium or not, regardless of whether he's playing tonight. Is it at Bayer?

He's not saying he has any info though, only that the two papers saying the move is on are well sourced.
Does Emma Storey really work for Sky Sports? I though she worked for some Tottenham newspaper or am I just thinking of Ben Pearce?

Still reckon everyone is getting way ahead of themselves here.

If he was having a medical I'm pretty sure there would be mire concrete stories.

If he's got a release clause it may be that we have simply met that, and now we have to convince him to come. I'd be surprised if he made that decision before knowing whether Bayer were going to be in the Champions League this season or not.

Apparently he's in their squad tonight, so clearly not as advanced as has been portrayed.

Yup...as i said earlier in the thread...Twitter storm.

Not saying we're not interested or that we won't get him. But he's clearly not having a medical etc. Could all just be designed to scare West Brom.

What do you make of him as a player, being a Bundesliga watching regular?

Well, I'd like him, but at this point it's hard to say whether my excitement is actually due to him being good or simply the fact that our other options seem to be Moses and Bolasie :bored: Fee seems a little excessive too.

But yeah, he's definitely a bit of what we need, ie pace, but my biggest caution would be that his style is relatively similar to Townsend in that he prefers to run from deep rather than in behind. Although that said, he does at least run beyond the man with the ball, and he's without question a much better finisher than Townsend. I suppose if you imagine a Townsend who could score even a quarter of those all shots he had during that AVB season, it's pretty exciting! He'll do well in this league I reckon!

It's all coming from the German end rather than England. Very much doubt it's anything to do with that. There's clearly something in this story even if the medical reports are off the mark it seems. Very reliable German sources.

I think this could be the case,or it could be us realising that Berahino price was getting out of hand and moving on to Son at the price of our second bid. However it could also be due to the potential exit of Lamela.

It's clear it's not as advanced as a medical but the interest has been confirmed, and Leverkusen seem open to sell whether there is a release clause or not.
