Idea: Sign Berahino and Illaramendi on loan to perm. Loan to perm Lamela to Inter, and replace him with Son. Sell Townsend and sign Yarmolenko. Sell Fazio, Lennon, Carroll, loan Ade and Yedlin

In: Berahino, Illaramendi, Son, Yarmolenko
Out: Lamela, Townsend, Fazio, Lennon, Carroll, Ade, Yedlin

Of course, this requires about a £10-£15m net spend so there is no shot in hell this happens. Just let me dream though.

"Leverkusen season ticket holder here. Got ambivalent feelings about this. First of all, as mentioned by many in this thread, KStA is a source to take rather serious, they don't spread silly rumours. Additionally, Son was playing bad and missed the game against Hannover this Weekend due to a cold or something, make of that what you want. He's the kind of player that needs to be sent into space. He's got all the pace you could wish for and is absolutely fantastic at finishing at full speed, under pressing, 100% both footed, whatever you need. He consistently scores some amazing and important goals for us, which is why I'm very sceptical about him leaving. Brandt still has a long way to go in terms of consistency. Mehmedi looked good so far, but had some shaky finishing, which we have a big problem with anyways for two seasons now. I feel bad about letting a player go that just manages to get us goals. Additionally, if he goes, so does LG, our main sponsor. He's unbelievably popular in Korea, every single game you see dozens of koreans coming round and watching him. A word about why this isn't the end of the world though: While amazing at some things, he's utterly shit at other aspects of his game. Don't expect him to create many chances, he's absolutely not well versed as a playmaker and his decision making is shit, absolute shit. He hasn't really gotten any better at it in his time with us too, you still regularly see him running into three opposition players without really having the skill and/or creativity to beat them. Very frustrating. Also, as mentioned by others, he tends to play bad against bullying teams, which could really be a problem for him on a cold, rainy night in Stoke or however it goes"

This guy would know a lot more than any of us, but I find that surprising. The times I watched I was impressed with his decision making and ability to link up with his team mates - was involved in some lovely team moves when I saw them play - which to be fair was only a handful of times.

Well, I'd like him, but at this point it's hard to say whether my excitement is actually due to him being good or simply the fact that our other options seem to be Moses and Bolasie :bored: Fee seems a little excessive too.

But yeah, he's definitely a bit of what we need, ie pace, but my biggest caution would be that his style is relatively similar to Townsend in that he prefers to run from deep rather than in behind. Although that said, he does at least run beyond the man with the ball, and he's without question a much better finisher than Townsend. I suppose if you imagine a Townsend who could score even a quarter of those all shots he had during that AVB season, it's pretty exciting! He'll do well in this league I reckon!
Interesting, ta. I've not seen him do as much dribbling when I've seen him.

So he's like Townsend then, except he actually scores? Considering Townsend is being mooted at £15m. Buying someone like him who can actually score would be worth about £20m. Fee seems about right, to be honest.

You know there's 6 days left of the window, not 6 months?

Incidentally someone needs to get to wherever it is we do our medicals and find out what's going on this summer.

That's now Berahino and Son we've apparently done medicals for.

Are there just some very good footballer lookalikes in the area?
Are we still doing them at Holly House do u know, or are they now done at Hotspur Way?

Considering the longest transfers of the lot would be Townsend and Ade at this point, there is time to pull it off. Yarmolenko and Berahino want out. Illara is down to Sociedad and us, probably. Son is apparently close. Lamela is apparently close to being off. Yedlin has interest across Europe. Carroll should have interest in the PL. Lennon might have a few suiters and Fazio is close to being off too.

<cough> Bull sh** <cough>

edit: not digging at you Yaniv, just the claim this guy makes to being a season ticket holder. Reads like someone who watches the bundesleague on BT sport.

Bayer gain absolutely nothing from this rumor and the reports are coming from Germany.

Maybe it isn't as advanced but don't see how there is nothing in it. If we were just using this to move Berahino along you'd have to think the noise would be coming from UK press.

Sky Germany: Heung-Min Son being sold is currently "not an issue" for Leverkusen. South Korean in #B04 squad to play Lazio tonight. #THFC

And there you go. Nothing close anyway.

Weird the way it all broke from local media, normally when that happens it means a deal is getting advanced etc.

Our interest could well be genuine and strong, but you can't help but feel this was engineered to exert pressure on West Brom.

Any chance this has been leaked from our end to remind WBA that Berahino isn't the only forward player we are looking at? (Yes it's a slow work day.)
