I think it is a disgrace that we have to pay to watch any national game. No wonder there are few young kids coming through - if their parents cant afford it, they cant watch their heroes.

probably for the best to be honest and do you think all the kids growing up in brazil or even the eastern block watch their national team on the tv or can afford one?

not on your nelly, so that's a very poor excuse for our kids not coming through.

What is the cost overall?

and the contracts etc, is it worth having as well as the Skysports package or is it really a case of either or? (if so which is better)

Im interested, especially since they bought the rights to the UFC.

Although I wouldn't want to lose the saturday night hour highlights of every SPurs game, do Setanta have their own version of this? (perhaps shown after midnight to get around same day highlight rights)

Not sure, as I was pleasantly surprised to have it added to my Virgin package at no extra cost a year or so ago. I point-blank refuse to make that **** Murdoch a penny richer, and it's a lot cheaper to go to the pub to watch Spurs if they're on Sky.

You get Dutch, French, German and Portuguese football, a live game weekly plus highlights.

Yeah they had a phone in on 5 live this morning about cancelling the subscription, it sounded almost impossible unless you are prepared to write a letter to there HQ and send it recorded delivery.

One of there top guys came on and said after the media on there cancelling policy today they would now review it, so i'd expect it change anytime soon now.

Ou of interest, I wonder how many new subscribers they got this week for the game tonight, might be getting a few more now after tonights performance.

Yeah and they usually do a weekly highlights show of each league aswell so you get to see highlights of all the games, which is pretty good if you like to keep up with the foreign leagues mentioned by SS57.

Got to see Martin Jol at Hamburg the other day, can't remember who they were playing but they won 4-2 or 4-1 and martin looked Jolly!

i sent this to setanta ([email protected] <[email protected]>)

Dear whoever this may concern,

Setanta is by far the worst thing ever invented. It has the poorest quality of image/video. It is like watching an Internet online streaming.

The continuous cutting out of channels midway. EVERYONE i have spoken to dislikes your service and i am appauled that it costs so much for you channels, they are worth about 50p. It is not because of the area we are in, everyone seems to have the same opinion

No wonder my dad is cancelling his subscription! AND no wonder everyone dislikes your service!

I would rather listen to the games on the Radio.

Didn't you say you were a student?

Omg, why are spurs even associated with such a terrible channel?

We're not

I think it is a disgrace that we have to pay to watch any national game.

Welcome to 2000. I find it odd that people complain about Sentanta when they're doing exactly what Sky have done. I don't recall people complaining that a particular game was only on Sky.

There's nothing wrong with Setanta, it's your hardware that's causing the issues.

I signed up with them last year for a £1 two month subscription. Phoned up to cancel afterwards and they refused to let me cancel, constantly offering me better deals and pleading with me to stay. Eventually I got so pissed off that I yelled at the guy quite bluntly that the call is costing me money and he better cancel my account immediately. He did so that's how forceful you have to be with these ****s.

Plus you get Waddle.

I hope that's tongue in cheek, he is by far one of the worst commentators ever.

Whenever Tottenham or England are on I am obviously a little biased as I want my team to win and I understand an ex-england international will probably be even more biased but he was beyond belief. He wanted every Croatian player sent off and every decision to go our way. At one point I even had to mute the tv!

I subscribe to the channel package - £12.99 - good value for 46 league games, including Spurs, as well as England games, other International matches, UEFA Cup including the Spurs games...

I disagree.

£156 a year for this when PremPlus was £50 a year!

All they've done is taken the games which were on Terrestrial and Charge us for them now.

Not only that, I have it on Multiroom at an extra £2.99 a month so make that £192 a year.

Great.

I'd rather pay for setanta's coverage of spurs games than put up with channel 5's for free

Plus Boxing, NRL, UFC and England away internationals... plus a load of other crap... also for PremPlus you had to have Sky... Setanta is available to people with Freeview...

I agree with si the picture quality is terrible, espicially on my big plasma. It is similar channel 5's football coverage, maybe a bit worse. I love skysports HD

Setanta's the same as all the others, no difference whatsoever between it and Sky for instance. They both use pictures from the local broadcaster when abroad so if the picture quality's bad it's the Croatians you need to blame. Setanta's a bit cheaper than Sky though.

I know what you mean, it completely takes the gloss off when you have him and the main commentator vieing with each other to be the most biaised. There was a point in the first half when Waddle said something like "how good was that?" and the other fellow said "No chris, how very good was that?" Or something like that anyway.

The whole coverage of England is cringeworthy and getting worse, and that's not just on Setanta, Five Live are just as bad if not worse.

Its cos they're scared of losing the contract, like what happened to BBC one because it was critical of the England set up...

I thought there coverage from Setanta was spot on last night with some rousing English sh*t before kick off to get you in the mood. The guest speakers for the game we're also very good aswell so

The pictures we're from Croatian TV so not to be blamed for the crap cuts and camera shots during the game

Pffff...don't know what the fuss is about?
