Be interesting to hear what the renewal rate on ST's is for next season . Due to covid something like 30000 members have disappeared from the ST waiting list, we have an interim manager and the squad we have is going nowhere

The prices being charged for hospitality and general admission are the highest in the PL , if we are mid table next season will we start seeing empty seats ? Harry wants trophies, well he's not going to get any with this squad of players so will be no surprise to see him gone and he's the main attraction.

When are they opening up ticket sales?

I want to see us next season but have been offered a Brighton season ticket for 545. Considering taking it up as it includes free train train before and after the games, and at least I would get to see some football. (Be nice to not give a shot about losing too)
Whatever you want, I could buy a season ticket for DC United but I rather travel 3500 miles to see my Spurs.
Even when we are this crap.

I’ll renew. Because I don’t know how not to. I’ll turn up and watch it, even if it’s shit, because it’s Spurs. In sickness and in health.

I’ll fucking complain though. That’s my right.

I've renewed but I'm not going to watch the last two games. I just hate this bunch of players

Then why have you renewed? I am really finding it difficult to find any reason why I should!
I’m in the same boat as I suspect a lot of people....really don’t want to renew but I know I will because you just can’t let go...that and the fact that I know the moment I do let it go it’ll all come good..

I will renew eventually but will leave it to the last minute , being a concessionary ST holder I only pay half the price so am only allowed to complain half as much as full price ST's

You and me both ?

I have made the decision not to apply for Villa though.

Do you only support Spurs during the 'good' times?

I've seen lots of talk of ST holders not renewing as they didn't like José, or the don't like the football, or they don't like Levy, etc, etc.

I was a fan of this club long before any of that/them and I will be long after too.

That was easier to justify back when there was a better atmosphere at games, you could reliably get to fun away days, and STs were £600 rather than four figures.

I’m ok renewing in principle that you follow the team through good and bad times. But I am struggling with justifying why I am being asked to pay the £1000 balence on a £1400 ticket ie very expensive in comparison to the rest of the teams yet we get a pitiful offering to watch . Players should subsidise the season to ticket holders 50% of the price every time they don’t turn up and lose with no effort

They’re all renew. They’re probably just trying to win social media.

In my book, it's quite simple.

You either support the club or you don't. You don't get to choose based on the current incumbents or the results.

I'll always support the club. That doesn't mean I'll always think it's such a key part of my life that it's worth £1,000 a year up front, £20 per game in travel, extra for any cup matches, and about 20% of my weekend days to commit to a season ticket. For now I've renewed but will likely put some games up for resale if I can. You don't have to go to every game and let it dominate your life to be a Spurs fan - and I'll only do that if it's fun and worth it.

I don't think I am renewing. I have been thinking about it alot, I was very close to doing it last summer but was persuaded by the fact I only had to put a small down payment down, my reasoning was let's see how this season goes and I'll decide next summer, well this season has only reinforced my feelings.

I'm being asked to pay a remaining 1200 on a 1600 season ticket. That is pretty much 85 quid a game. The views from my expensive seat aren't even that great. The team and club are in disarray. I can barely summon the enthusiasm to spin my computer chair around and watch the game, let alone a three - four hour round trip journey to Tottenham.

Majority of the players don't give a fuck. VAR has made it even worse.

When we win, it's just as enjoyable at home as it is at the ground. When we lose, being able to simply turn away from the TV is much easier I don't have any mates that go up there anyway, so it's a solitary venture. I'd rather spend my time doing other things nowadays. I had a good few years being a ST holder under the Poch years, I feel that will be as good as it gets for probably quite a many years. Until we are bought by owners who actually want to win and we can compete with the likes of United, Liverpool, City and Chelsea.

This thing about feeling trapped and renewing because you don't want to lose your space, think about it, this will happen every year. You'll feel the same next season, and feel obliged to spend another load of money. It never ends.

Better to just get off the ride now.

I kind of agree with you both. I think there had to be a line as to where you stop making the sacrifice involved in being fully dedicated and match going, especially if you’re neither filthy rich nor without other commitments, and that line is probably correlated to the level of connection you feel you have with the club - that ultimately will come down to what is happening on the pitch.

I love the club, Spurs has been my primary form of entertainment my entire life and I greatly miss the guys I say with for twenty years at WHL as I had spent more of my life around them than the majority of my extended family or any friends- didn’t even know half their names but they saw me growing up. I can’t see myself ever having that element again so now my enjoyment of Spurs is 100% linked to what happens on the pitch.

My gut tells me that when my dad is too old/ tired/ fed up to keep going and I have the choice between keeping his ticket or not, I’ll be in a tricky spot when it comes to justifying whether I keep going. Don’t forget, back in the mid nineties it was a choice between going out about 1 minute highlights on match of the day for 15/19 home matches. That is no longer an issue.

It’s definitely easier to renew when the cost isn’t so high!
As a concession if I skip some matches it doesn’t matter so much as I doubt there will be much uptake on ticket exchange if the team carries on getting worse.
Having over a year without going means I’m really not looking forward to the travelling again and definitely not the late nights. If we scrape into EL I won’t bother paying extra for those games that’s for certain?
