Huh?

How was that Levy's fault, he offered 20+ mill for Berahino.

Yeah... last day of the window. And WBA have no time to get a replacement so of course they dont want to sell.

I think Barkley will end up staying in Everton and sign a new contract.

I'm happy with that as long as we bring in another AM.

lol I guess you missed the part where WBA rejected straight cash bids from Stoke and other clubs in subsequent windows? They just didn't want to sell the player to make a point. Nothing to do with Levy on that occasion.

yup... still we should had given them the our final bid amt and move on early if we know they wont sell. Leaving it late these days will be worse off bec no one gonna sell you their assets if they got no replacements unless surplus player like Sissoko.;)

The landscape had change and the old method of last min buy is no longer yield dividend. Offer our final reserve price for Barkley and move on. There must be other players we can get in early.

It does seem strange for Everton to come out with this now. Maybe they are announcing this because they want to justify selling him for way less than they wanted. I wouldn't be surprised if we still sign him.

Yeah it's a weird one. If he's just had the surgery, surely we would want to wait until we know he's recovered properly though?

By the sounds of things it's incredibly minor surgery - it's not like he's having a knee replaced. If he's expected back in 4 weeks I can't imagine there's too much of a recovery risk.

It's about 4 weeks until the end of the window. Wouldn't be surprised if we sign him then once he's back to fitness. Ties in with how lots of people reckon the transfer would go on until the end of the window because when was the last time we signed an injured player?

I'd rather we not sign him this summer at all now, he won't be anywhere near match fit after recovering from injury and we need people to play now, especially with Son out injured and Alli missing for 3 European games.

We must have a plan B so I feel we need to go for that.

I wasn't sure about Barkley, but if everybody at the club believe he's the right signing then it seems incredibly short sighted to switch to another target just because he has a minor injury that's going to deprive him of a proper pre season.

If it's a hernia its a minor keyhole procedure and he'll be running in 2 weeks.
I had keyhole surgery on a double hernia in Feb. Was fine after a couple of weeks...back running and playing football.

I'm sure Ross would have had better doctors/surgeons than I did too.
Seems unlikely.

I noticed mine and within a week I'd been referred to a consultant, who wanted to operate the following week. They can appear pretty quickly and be dealt with even quicker if you have the right healthcare...
