If anyone thinks €30million is too much for a proven international, league and CL scorer just think of the fact that P$G paid €35 million for an unproven 19-year old uncapped brazillian defender

Yeah, but if we model our transfer policy on the likes of PSG we'll be floundering in the Championship within a couple of years. When you have an endless supply of oil money it's easy to piss money away without worrying about the ramifications. We don't have that luxury.

I'm probably in the minority here but £25.8m is a outrageous amount of money to pay for him. We are not a financially doped club like CFC or MCFC hence don't have money to burn. We are getting proper shafted here if we pay that fee...[/quote)

Got to say I have sympathy with this even when I am normally in the not my money club

Arsenal have apparently met Roma about Osvaldo which makes sense if Roma truly do want Gervinho. If that's true, it may force Valencia's hand a bit if they view Osvaldo as Soldado's replacement.

Also, I wouldn't undersell how important this deal will be to Baldini. It's his first public transfer dealing and while others could loosely be attributed to him, this one's got his face all over it. I wouldn't underestimate how much he will want to make this work.

I thought Valencia were selling Soldado to cover debts. How would the afford Osvaldo or any other striker who costs £18m+

Some very good points - It logically should go though from what I read from around the media and on here.

Valencia cannot be seen to cave in or look weak. Thus much posturing.
