This is one of the best things I've read all week, actually, all summer in concern with Spurs.

Is great to hear this, a manager thinking as the fans do, being honest, unlike Wenger who will insist he has strong enough players in certain areas when he doesn't which would just be frustrating to hear. Love the ambition he's showing as well, I'm sure the players are happy hearing that.

I think we have to be patient, we are all hoping for a big name/quality player or two and I think Harry will work very hard to improve our starting 11.

Is the first time he's said 2 or 3 rather than 'just the one or maybe 2', if that's anything to go by...

I hope that one of the areas he's hinting at is upfront. I hope the other area is upfront aswell!

I think this is a strong PR message that is targeted to the players Spurs might be/are in negotiations with.

ill keep saying it, we have to wait our turn in food chain with reagrds big players, city will always be active, man united still sniffing and arsenal seem active as does the pool in terms of getting players out to make way for more players im sure.. it is fact that these clubs will be ahead of us champions league or no champions league, they get first pick and we get their cast offs.. end of..only way is if we get a relatively unknown for example lois remy and he turns into class act but like i said big name players will be hawked to top teams over us first

glad harry agrees with 80% of people on SC

No thats the problem! 80% of people on SC think we shouldnt push the boat out and snap up 2-3 star players.

They either want us to blood the youth or leave our current squad to gain experience and hope for the best.

I've been saying for weeks we need 2-3 real quality additions if we want to maintain top 4 and progress in CL.

Are you listening SC!? Or do you want us to stick with Jenas, keane, Ohara and all the other deadwood that needs clearing out

At least ARRY has some common sense.

Im more happy by the fact he says we will be challenging for the title.

Now this may seem a little ridicolous but alot of spurs fans will have written off are chances of maintaining a 4th spot finish due to city's spending, and the belief they may even challenge for the title.

But, shoot for the stars land on the moon and all that, if we aim to win the title (fail) and finish in the top 4 - thats still a massive achievement and almost stamps our status as one of the best teams in the EPL.

Extremely pleased by those comments by Redknapp.

You obviously didn't see mine 2 posts up!

maybe it was because it was your first post, welcome

it could be a message to levy, to the players he thinks aren't good enough, or to the players he's trying to sign, or to us the fans

i tend not to believe a great deal from the mouth of the man who doesn't want to say too much

I don't care about what city have done so far! Who have they bought?
Boateng? Better than Charlie (RB) or Bale (LB) or even Kaboul and Ekotto? Untried and untested in the prem.

Toure? Barca let him go why? Because he isn't good enough and never plays a full season. Again untested in the prem.

David Silva? Who else came in for him? He is famous because there were 2 good players called "David" in the same team. Not quick enough and again untested.

What have they played for these players? 60-70 MILLION and god knows how much in wages.

Would any of those players even get into our team? I don't think so!

Those players are not going to make them challenge for the league. The only area they were better than us last season was up front and even that is up for debate. Tevez is class and makes a difference, but Santa Cruz and Adebayor? Are they really that good?

City will be the same circus as they were last season. 10 new players, another new manager and another season of mediocrity........

Wow, sounds like us!

Agree about silva, Toure could be very good, but may unsettle them (to be really effective i would drop barry and play Toure with De Jong, cos Barry is very overrated, but you know he wont be dropped!) but Boateng is excellent and will be an unqualified success.

I'm not saying that they are bad players, just that they are not worth anything like what city paid for them and also that we have better players in each of those positions.

 As I took great efforts to explain on the thread you are referring to: I read it that I would be happy with the squad wwe have, not that I wouldn't be happier if we signed some top class players. Please tell me you can understand the distinction that this makes, please?

Anyway, Pleitoski (or whatever), a No9, and maybe a centre-half - but, there again, maybe he is including Sandro - and, to be exact, he did say "2 or 3" not 3, or maybe even Gudjohnsen.
