We won but won ugly! This game asked a lot more questions than giving answers in our quest this season.

Anyway its another 3 points in the bag, displacing Arsenal for 4th spot.

Despite him not saving 2 penalties, I will give Hugo MOTM

Lamela MOTM, Tripps the opposite. Apart from that was another poor performance with three good goals from us. Wolves should have leveled. We got lucky. Still, a win is a win.

Hugo was great, thought Winks and Lamela were too. Lamela's energy and dedication showed some of his team mates up today.
Saw the best and worst of Trips, lovely cross for the goal, but defensively so weak.

Lloris 7 some good saves and took the pressure off at times claiming the ball

Trippier 5 started the collapse and not good defensively. Stupid nutmeg yet shouts at others. Good assist at least
Foyth 6 good before giving away the pens
Toby 7 not his composed self today in the 2nd half but okay
Davies 6 Solid even if limited by lack of pace

Sissoko 8 absolute soldier. Covered Trippier and then Davies once Traore was on. Made some great runs even without an end product. Almost like having 2 players on the pitch in terms of his running

Winks 7 sloppy at times but moved the ball around well

Lamela 8 MOTM for being involved in 2 goals. Quality in final third, lost the ball a couple of times but worked hard

Moura 8 took his goal well and set Kane up a couple of times. Worked hard

Son 6 looked lively but didn't work hard defensively enough for me

Kane 7 battled with a good goal. Sometimes needs to pass rather than shoot

Eriksen 5 Anonymous

Sanchez 6 looked shaky

Lloris 8- excellent

Toby -6 poor to average
Foyth -4 poor second half, exacerbated by the world cup superstar next to him constantly out of position

Davies 6 - typically solidly average
Trippier 2 - typically shite, didn't help foyth, left massive gaps, woddles back into position at least Davies somewhat holds a defensive shape...sigh tired of him

Sissoko -6 not as good as recent, didn't offer enough defensive cover

Winks -6 ok in possession but bad without, got beaten repeatedly and pulled all over the place leaving massive gaps. Good little study to show what Dier provides despite the critique he gets for his work on the ball. The compete opposite of Winks

Son -7 thought he looked good
Moura -7 as above, good goal
Lamela -9 take a lot more than £30 million to by him these days

Kane. -6 poor first half, improved in second but still not great apart from goal
Erisken -3 a fine ozil impression
Sanchez -5 shakey as fuck

Hugo man of the match in my opinion, good performance from him after tough spell. Lamela good too, glad Kane got his goal. Sissoko did decent again considering had to shift positions.

Full backs pathetic. Winks was poor once we were on ropes. Foyth not to blame.

Very disappointed in Toby. He’s meant to be the experienced head, showed no leadership at all.

We won but it was horrendously ugly.

Birdie - Lamela, Lloris
Par - Winks, Sissoko, Lucas, Toby
Bogey - Kane, Foyth, Son, Eriksen, Sanchez
Double bogey - Davies, Trippier

Lamela edges MOTM over Lloris for me, I know we should never expect a keeper to save a penalty but Lloris never even goes the right way and that's what's so infuriating.

Foyth was coping very well with all the shit Trippier was flinging his way until the first penalty, then went to pieces as is completely understandable for a kid making his first PL start.

I think Trippier and Davies both may have played their worst games for us. I hate hyperbolic statements like that so soon after a game but I don't think this feeling will go away tomorrow morning. Neither of them stopped anything that came at them and they made life hell for Toby and Foyth.

We were so poor the last half hour it's hard to be positive right now, but the best thing about this game was how well we took our chances, and Kane also forced Patricio into making two superb saves. So that's a good high to end on.

Lloris MOTM for me. Next closest is Lamela, but he did give the ball away & lose the ball in transition. That's the big difference between him and Eriksen when playing in the hole. This leads to the team overall getting under pressure.

I gave it to Davies, felt he was outstanding today (but probably it was only because of how good he looked in comparison to Trippier).

Winks was playing quite nicely, and then he started messing around and that allowed the Wolves to get back into the game soon after we went 3 nil.

Foyth gave a good game, and I won't blame him for either penalty he gave away. All the senior players around him were caving in to the pressure Wolves were putting in, and both penalties were a result of that.

Lamela and Lloris were their usual awesome. They probably deserved the MOTM just as much as Davies, but I was only given one pick.

Sanchez 6 fine, helped us at the back

I think your 6 rating on Alderwerield is a tad bit harsh. He marshalled that defence tonight. Covered for Foyth positionally.

edit. Agree with rest of your ratings though.

Eriksen didn't give the ball away because he didn't touch it in the first place.

Gotta feel sorry for Foyth, was doing so well up to the penalties on his PL debut, Trips is a disgrace for attempting a nutmeg in that position, seems like the WC hype has got to his head, weird to see a sub substituted in Son, he didn't look happy

I'm not one for nostalgia but that was us in the 90's all over, except then we would have probably lost.

Where to start.... Winks was alone in a desert out there with no help and trying hold together what was pretty much a 4-1-4 formation for most of the game (and Sissoko). Our full backs were on their own most of the time and it was just mental.

Lloris won us that game, I know he is not flavour of the month at the moment but he made some great saves and I particularly like the save with his leg at the near post. MOM

Coming in as a close second, our 'as good as a new signing' Lamela, who ran his ass off. He plays as if it was his last game, vital for us, and for more vital in the games against lesser teams where we need to unlock the defences. Since he has come back from his injury he has been reborn.

Trippier - Now I am not going to join the hate brigade, but I said a while ago and I will say it again, he is a right midfielder, not a full back. I would play KWP and Trippier in the same side. Excellent cross for Mouras goal, some weak defending and was targeted heavily by Wolves today.

Foyth - Poor lad, hopefully he recovers from this.

Sissoko - Worth playing him for the comedy value alone, twice today he booted it out of play, he brings smile to my face and thats all I can ask of him.

Davies - Was more solid as the game went on actually, but still can't be out first choice left back, just not at the required standard.

Everyone else was ok. We were lucky!

Before you have a dig at Lamela using Eriksen as an example, at least Lamela usually makes an effort to and usually retrieve the ball much more than Eriksen who also gives the ball away.

Gave it to Lamela.

Lloris did well - could easily have gone here for MOTM.

I thought Foyth was above average - needs these kinds of experiences to grow. Not worried about the Pens.

Toby played well - looked more of a leader.

Trippier and Davies - enough has been said about them - they need to be better.

Winks - too anonymous today - has to demand the ball. Still tidy on the ball, but went missing for large stretches - and not quite strong enough when we don't have Dier/Wanyama (or Dembele) to defend.

Sissoko - Sissoko does what Sissoko does - runs with the ball fairly well, has no idea what to do when he stops running.

Son - average performance - I assume he will be needed on Tuesday

Lucas - someone mentioned in the match thread, but he played better when he dropped deeper to get the ball. Unfortunately, he is not a lot of help on defense - so it becomes risky to play him deeper.

Lamela - played with his usual tenacity - in good form.

Kane - still seems knackered - lacking that burst of speed he has had in the past.

Spot on about Toby. he should have been the one calming Foyth after the first penalty.

Just felt like it was Toby who was the 20yr old,not Foyth
