Glad its over tbh, although scared to see how the summer pans out. But today summed up what are are and might have been. Some great attackers, but some flimsy defenders and some weak midfielders

Lloris 7- unlucky with the goals, made a routine great save at the end
Doherty 7- pretty solid actually. He’s not the turd he’s been made out to be.
reguilon 6 not bad
Sanchez 5 unlucky on the pen, which was just another howler from the refs. But so bad on the ball.
alderweireld 5 silly play to give away a penalty.
hojbjerg 6 solid. That’s what he does
Winks 5 want to say 7 because he actually made some tackles. Want to say 3 because he still hides and doesn’t want the ball when he should. Comically bad passing at times.
dele 5 the sign of great player is that they look like they have so much time on the ball. He looked rushed throughout
Bergwijn 6 strong and skilful with vision. Didn’t quite work today
Son 6 still not hitting the heights we are used too. Gone are the step overs and long shots.
kane 6 scored, otherwise fairly static until the last 10mins

subs
Bale 8 brings confidence that Bergwijn can only dream of
Lucas 7 much more purposeful on the ball than dele
Rodon - not enough time

mason. 5 god knows what he’s doing behind the scenes but he did get a response out of winks and Doherty. Glad that’s time up for him tbh.

today’s got a real end of an era feeling about it. Hopefully the rebuild is positive and we recruit well.

That was a good game and despite all the bed wetting and rumour mongering before the game we played pretty well. Given the team we put out the fact that we scored 4 goals and the 2 we conceded were penalties was very encouraging.
Sanchez was in obviously to counteract the pace of their 2 front men. Overall he did well although he got done for both their penalties. The first one was stone cold but the second was another depressing example of despite years and years in and around football and football players referees even at the highest level are ignorant of the nuances of the game and the tricks players do to get free kicks and penalties. It’s as clear as day that Vardy grabs Sanchez’s arm pulls on and then pushes him in order to make it look like Sanchez pulled him down. That 2 referees(1 a FIFA ref!!!!) can’t see that is very worrying.
First half Leicester were very compact defensively and we didn’t have much joy in front of goal except for one moment where Kane showed why he’s one of the best strikers around.
After we equalized their desire for a winning goal along with the arrival of Bale and Lucas gave us much more space and we punished them.
I thought Dele had a good first half. Not everything came off but he kept trying to get someone in behind their back four.
Overall though I thought nearly everybody played well so I gave MOM to Team Effort. It’s disappointing that the “team” didn’t put more performances like that in the second half of the season. If they’d had we may have been in the CL, not the ECL, and even maybe had a cup to our name.

The bar is so low for these players that people are overreacting. Winks passed directly to Leicester players under no pressure about ten times leading to counter attacks. He was the worst midfielder on the pitch. It was one of his best games this season.

I was flicking between the games but happened to turn the match on when Winks whilst under no pressure passed the ball straight to a Leicester player = a counter attack = Winks having to wipe the player out = a yellow card. It was criminal of him to give the ball away in said situation.

Undecided on motm, but 10/10 for NBC coverage that didn't mention Kane's future. Not once.

Toby was good and his usual calmness personified. But also gave away the pen.
Sanchez was good and handled Vardy's pace pretty well. Bullshit penalty.
Winks probably had his best game of the season, as did Doc. Low bar yes, but progress is progress.
Dele good 1st half, faded fast 2nd half and was right decision to sub him.
Lucas frustrates the fuck out of me, but he gives the defenders something different to worry about.
Bale. Class act.
Son was shite. Clearly lacking confidence.
Kane was shite for 89 minutes, but still managed a goal and an assist so fair dos.

Yes NBC did well not mentioning Kane situation(6) . I noticed a couple of boos for him tho from the crowd .

Strange that Leicester were so open and our forwards had room to play . As mpickard says we are a fair-weather team and if an opposition
lets us play then we really can...weird that Leicester at this critical moment allowed us to, while mid-table Villa was having none of it.

I have been enraged by Son (6) performances from Final onwards , but today he was better, showing some intent , but is a classic fair-weather Spurs player imo along with Bale (7). are we sure we want 2 forwards who'll go into their shells in the face of energetic pressing?

From his first touch ,Doherty (7) was on the case which was another end of season surprise .Dele (6) made an effort tho again we can't guarantee he'll work hard through a season and he faded after 45 and didn't create a whole lot .

First pen was a classic 50% er . If Lloris(6) went the right way that's an easy save .Sanchez (5) got totally tricked by Vardy for the 2nd pen.
Lack of better camera angles may have helped Vardy with this .

Overall , an entertaining end of season match , a nice surprise for us , but we must be careful of reading too much into it imo .

Nope, sorry, not having that.

Sanchez did not get tricked by Vardy as Sanchez does nothing wrong in that situation. Vardy uses Sanchez to con the referee and for two refs + the VAR assistant to all think that's a penalty is a scandal.

It proves that the main reason VAR doesn't work is the officials interpreting it.

... and the "clear and obvious" get out of jail card they've been given. Players like Vardy know that VAR won't over-rule the ref when it just looks like a "coming-together", so they play for it.

Yes! Vardy literally grabs Sanchez’s arm and drags him down with him. Sanchez was the one that was actually fouled.

Really tough to select a MOTM as don’t think anyone stood out and the fact I’m going for Doherty sums it up, he was competent.

Toby played well but dumb moment giving away the penalty, similar with Sanchez whether Vardy milked it or not. I wish more of our players played with the energy and drive of Reggie but he was fortunate with losing possession again.

Winks and PEH were competent but I’d trade them both for Tielemans.

SB and Son worked hard and Son got in some great positions and should have scored with the Dele pass and Kane should have put him through in the second half. Dele apart from that pass was a trier at best but nothing came off and he gave a lot of possession away.

Kane was pretty poor apart from a top quality finish and what can you say about Bale, seems to glide with the ball and can make the game look easy when he wants.

Credit to Mason for dropping Dier and good subs pulling Dele and SB off, Moura brought a bit of energy and Bale a bit of quality. assume GLC was injured as Winks while he had a decent game is still such a limited player.

Rodgers, not a great job interview. They were in control and looking comfortable until he replaced Maddison and tried to protect the lead.

Yes of course Sanchez was innocent...he was a victim of a con....don't understand your point.

You made it sound like Sanchez was naive or foolish to give the penalty away. When in reality he’d do the same thing again and again and not give a penalty away (with proper, honest refereeing of course)

i dont understand var!

the first pen, the game goes on and they call back play to give a penalty basically going against the ref, (right call)
second pen the ref says pen var says, its a pen when clearly there was no foul.
So Var can allow a pen and correct the ref during play, but cant disallow a pen which is clearly wrong when the ref asks for it to be checked?

we have had a lot of bullshit calls with VAR this season.
the other day against leeds we had a goal disallowed which was a goal, not forgetting the 2 hand balls early on in the season which were bollocks.

i just cant see how var could be so wrong, all of the decisions were easy decisions to make yet they get so many wrong

There were a lot of boos for Kane all match but remember, there’s were no way fans in the stadium, Leicester fans just have an irrational hatred of him.

Im originally from Leicester, their fans are proper backward turds, i associate them to the Chavs of the Midlands aka Chelscum of the midlands in terms of fan.... their hatred to kane is stupid, their hatred/dislike to spurs is bizarrely very high in general.

VAR could've overturned the second penalty or told the ref to go to the sideline to see for himself that he'd got it wrong. The VAR ref unfathomably chose not to do so.

It was Peter Banks ????
It only fucking was! I hadn't checked that.

Sunday 23 MayLEI 2-4 TOT

Referee: Anthony Taylor. Assistants: Adam Nunn, Mark Scholes. Fourth official: Keith Stroud. VAR: Peter Bankes. Assistant VAR: Lee Betts.

The club has to highlight this with PGMOL, PL and FA. It's like the sixth gameweek in a row Bankes has got something wrong and each new blunder is somehow worse than the last.
