Kane was dirt tonight, I really don't get Dier, Eriksen tried but apart from a mistake from Gent which led to a goal did little else, don't understand the Son backlash, he has been our only consistent composed performer in europe all season.

Between Vertonghen and Eriksen for me. Vertonghen is just so good on the ball and glides. Seriously underrated player.

Ask yourselves this: who actually played bad tonight? Anyone?
The first leg, Dele's red, shite refereeing, atrocious finishing. That's what done this one for us. No one turned in a poor performance tonight individually.

Dier wasn't too impressive tonight. Alli deserves a minus 10 score for his tackle but apart from that, they did turn in decent performances overall

Suppose we have to win the FA cup and push hard for the league

Do you know what, i think we'll do fine in Wembley in the FA Cup semi and final. Is it the overwhelming home support putting too much pressure on the team to over perform? Don't agree with blaming Wembley, but we hae a young team who are maybe struggling with the pressure.

I still don't see what Dier did so wrong. Even the goal that finished it, he was one of only 2 back and tried to get his body in the way, but the bounce beat him. I have no problem with Dier tonight.

We just lost 3-2 over two legs against Gent.
Gent are 8th in the Belgian league.

I wish I could be done with this fucking shit, it's some weird form of self harm disguised as entertainment. But I guess I have more disappointment to look forward to because nothing ever changes.<

Eriksen was good.

I thought he was too weak on the first goal and made a worryingly typical Dier 'the centre half' decision for goal number 2 by stepping up way too late. He has had a fair few John Stones moments this season and I don't trust him at centre half right now.

I struggle to feel extreme disappointment like I used to, when it comes to Spurs. Become numb to it!!!

What? The first goal? It was going nowhere until kanes unfortunate intervention.

Go on then. List his errors. And compare them to the rest of the team. Especially strikers who can not get their head over a ball.

Dier did what he always does, got exposed early on and rushed back in a panic, the ball bounced off him? the guy's not a defender, he's a good holding midfielder, but Wanyama and Moussa are so much better, sorry I just don't get why he starts so many games, given the amount of games he has cost us. If he wasn't an english internatioanl he'd be at Hull or Sunderland.

Kane had to get a tough otherwise the Gent player behind him had a sitter.

The ball shouldn't have reached Kane. Dier's attempt at winning the header was feeble. Poorly timed.

Jesus how have 7 people voted for walker for motm. Could have played till midnight and he wouldn't have created a meaningfull chance. Wasn't really tested defensively. People basing it on effort alone?

meh

Can we please drop wanyama and put dier back in midfield and play the same team as last year? If it aint broke?

Can we recognise that Dier is not as good as some think he is? Count the decisive errors, including losing his man at set pieces, he doesn't look like he wants it enough

Verts was brilliant and didn't deserve to be on the losing side. We were great between the boxes but that first leg performance was a stunning show of can't be bothered. Laughable we couldn't put that lot away over 180 mins.

Sounds like Danny is out for a while yet, play Davies inside and let Jan work the flank

That took a lot out of us in the second half, Stoke much harder now...
