So many good performances today. Bentancur was the best player in the pitch. He’s literally everywhere closing down, making himself available for a pass etc and he does it all almost effortlessly. I can’t fathom for the life of me how or why Juventus let him go and for such a low fee??? We are definitely a different team with him in it.
Having said that I gave MOM to Richarlison. He never stopped running and working for the team. He is so refreshingly unshelfish, always looking to play others in. He could have had a hat trick today so deserves some sort reward for all his efforts.

Yep, It’s the way he controls the ball into the space. Pierre controls it back in the direction it comes from a bit to much. He did play well though tbf to him. Bentancur was more influential in how we played through the pitch.

You know that Hojbjerg plays the most progressive passes/90 min? He also has the most passes forward into the final third/90 min.

I love Bentancur, but I also feel like Hojbjerg is so underrated by many fans. And I don't get that. I thought Hojbjerg was as good as Bentancur vs Fulham. They have a very good chemistry.

With that said, Richarlison got my vote. Hojbjerg and Bentancur at second place.

Because there are days when he just disappears.

Today he was superb and rightly MOTM, but some games he just wasnt at the races.

Spot on about Hojbjerg. Can never understand the criticism. His forward passes are really good, and has got excellent ball control as well.

I don’t disagree with you. He does not seem to be the same player in sone games especially against the big boys. Don’t for the life of me understand why.
I personally would replace him with Bissouma next week against City.

Richie took his chance when given a start today and think there is still more to come. Loving him more and more with each game.

Lloris couple of great saves, distribution which is his weakness looks so much better with Romero back and Lenglet so confident on the ball.

Sess was terrific, Emerson had a good game and back three all and good apart from Romero lapse they kept Fulham quiet.

Bentancur was outstanding keeps the ball moving so well and the energy he brings to that midfield. PEH top game and did really well with the goal.

Son put in a good shift and much improved, getting in good spots and the goals will come again. Kane decent and Ricarlison was popping up everywhere and deserved a goal.

Conte, pleased he left Sess out there when he brought Perisic on.

There are days all our midfielders disappear. It's cos they are overrun against a 3-man midfield. PEH and Bentacur are both very good midfielders

richarlison motm.
bentancur has a strong claim but shouldn't have been on the pitch (6 days for concussion - he'll remember this game when he is getting lost in sainsbury's in his 50's).
conte 8/10 - on the one hand he was right to bench sanchez, davies, perisic and bissouma as their midweek displays were poor. and right to give a start to richarlison.
But benching kulu was very harsh.
They weren't "benched". Which parts of "strong squad" and "rotation" are you wilfully unwilling to get?

We'll now be playing twice weekly for most of the time until November. Are you going to celebrate or bemoan every weekly change in personnel as "benching" or "dropping" between now and then?

There was a defensive mutiny led by perisic on wednesday. It had Dier pulling his hair out in frustration and we nearly lost because of the resultant chaos. I like to think sanchez, davies and perisic were benched because of that.
Bassouma was very poor, only able to pass backwards. Maybe he'll find his form in a month or 2, but on that performance, he is not a starter.
I like to think these 4 were absolutely benched rather than just rotated. Credit to conte.

Richarlison was red hot yesterday and rightly started. Credit to conte.

However kuluseviski was marginally my motm on that wednesday - for me you don't rotate out your in form players.
Likewise Richarlison can feel hard done by if he doesn't start his first CL game next week.

That's my view and it is quite rational. If others have views then post them, and do not be deterred by the demons up from the general forums.
We are in the footballing light here, and their powers are much diminished. :)

Hojbjerg, Lloris, Richy and Lenglet were all excellent. Romero would be in that category as well if it wasn't for the goal conceded.

The difference with having Romero and Lenglet in there from the start looked massive. It was only against Fulham, so we'll have to see what it's like against others.

No poor performers out there from the rest. Son deserved a goal. Royal was much improved (although I was hoping we'd see Spence in rotation).

Hojbjerg for me. In the first half in particular he played so many telling forward passes through the middle of the pitch that opened everything up. Showed vision, bravery and quality to execute them. Bentancur was excellent too, as was Richarlison.
I swear Emerson looks to see where everyone in the box is and then deliberately crosses 15 metres away from them all. He needs to look to play some one-twos in attacking positions to get to the byline. Much easier to smash a dangerous cross in from there.

Comments on BBC football by Garth Crooks on his team of the week which included PEH

This wasn't Tottenham's greatest performance against Fulham and Hojbjerg is not one of Tottenham's greatest players but both seem to be getting the job done.

52% possession , 23 shots , 10 on target , 2 goals scored , 2 goals disallowed , hit woodwork twice , yes Garth we were awful ...
