It’s either Kane or undeserved, so I’ll give it to our only player to come out of that match with any dignity.

Christ, we were shite.

Too many players making basic errors. ranging from poor touches to indecision, dribbling when they should pass, passing backwards when there was an opportunity to progress, or just taking too many touches or too long to do anything.

Main culprits today, Sissoko, Aurier, Foyth, also poor from Eriksen, and Son, and Winks was below average (still would've taken off Sissoko or Foyth before him though)

Just another performance for those that love to label us in certain ways to bash us with. There does come a point though where the evidence starts to become hard to ignore... :cautious:

Apparently Poch gave them a really tough pre-match warm up session to get over our slow starts...(worked wonders)

He was not the only one to have had a bad game, that could easily be leveled at Eriksen Foyth and others so get over yourself.

Yikes mate, I’ll blame it on the loss but no need to get personal over what was a very tepid comment. Aurier doing you up the backside or something?

He was god awful and continues to be time and again with the rare good game. Eriksen had an off day but is a fantastic player and Foyth gets the benefit of inexperience, hence my singling Aurier out.

Lloris- OK performance, but didn't organise the defence with enough authority. Should have realised the defence was nervous and taken control.

Rose- Played well, tried to make things happen, but didn't quite happen for him.

Foyth- You don't get many chances to make it in the Premier League, and for him this will be another strike against him. So much potential, but at times its like we're playing Lamela at CB.

Alderweireld- Not his usual calming self. Poor passing, poor control.

Vertonghen- See Alderweireld. Off game in a crappy 3CB system.

Aurier- Not good enough and never has been. Non-league touch, and very erratic decision making.

Winks- Never really got into the game in the way he has recently, but was still the only player threading things together. Taking him off was the game changer.

Eriksen- Getting harder to love by the week. Undoubtably a quality player, often decisive for us, but no where near consistent enough to be World Class. Will no doubt play brilliantly in the next game.

Sissoko- A little reminder for us all.

Kane- Despite the brilliant goal, in my opinion he shouldn't have started. Took the focus off Son, and contributed to the rustiness.

Son- Thought he was useless today, constantly forced to come deep to collect the ball which isn't really his game, but the service for him was literally non existent.

We must be positive and support our own, especially because we don't want our best player to leave for Real Madrid. This was not our fault and we must reflect on good performances from 2014 as opposed to caring about the present.

Surely there was a point in writing that post where you thought... 'actually i won't bother'

Good for you though for ploughing through.

At least we can stop this nonsense of being in a title race. We are a million miles away from competing for a title, we just for whatever reason don’t have it in us to win those games to really put us in with a chance. All this nonsense of us bottling it those two years, both times when it came it, to that moment when we could be right in driving seat we fell short. That’s what we do and what we will continue to do. I don’t know the solution aside from chucking money at it to make us too good to fail, and we ain’t doing that.

Overall top 4 and maybe getting knocked out in CL 1/4 final is good, just feels like we are no nearer to acheiving anything than 3 years ago. It could be worse but it’s still very frustrating.

Kane MOTM.

Lloris, Toby, Verts and Winks come out with some credit.

The rest were quite frankly pathetic and that includes Poch. They really let themselves down. Leaving Sanchez at home was a very odd decision.

But looking at the bigger picture we must now regroup and get back on track. Chelsea will be there for the taking. There's a lot to look forward to.

Kane scored, but his presence changed the whole dynamics of our play. Poch gets a poor rating from me for bowing down to internal politics and change a winning tempo.

Eriksen had an off day, right! Eriksen has been poor going on months now and most bury their head in the sand to this, obviously including you (Probably while doing you up the backside as you put it). Aurier might not the best right back but no way should he be solely blamed for this loss.

Not really. We've had plenty of poor performances since Kane was out and he was arguably our best player today. Kane's presence had no effect on the bad performances and individual mistake a lot of our players had today.

If I could have bothered to make any comments in my opening post, it would be along these lines, well said!

We were by far the better side for an hour

Completely dominated the game but didn’t move the ball quickly enough and didn’t show enough urgency

Kane should have been on the bench as it sent out the wrong message to the rest of the squad after doing so brilliantly.

Out best player for the last month or so Sonny was marginalised which was a real shame

Foyth is still a boy and got bullied by a man today

The last 30 mins we were terrible. Once Winks got subbed off we lost the plot. No football, zero control

We might have to just settle for winning the CL now
