We simply cannot afford to let him go to Arsenal, that on top of Eriksen going to United, will leave us needing to do some serious upgrades on them.

Raphinha, permanent contact Leeds-Arsenal.

▫️ The clubs advance in the operation. There is no full agreement yet, but the parties continue to get closer.

▫️ At the moment the Gunners are on pole.

Not even based on the above but I have a pretty strong feeling he's going Arsenal ngl.

Really hope to see reports that it's swinging in our favour over the next few days/next week...

I don't know why because Richarlison would certainly tick a lot of boxes but I can't help but want to bring in someone a bit more special should we miss out on Raphinha.

Why are Leeds selling their best players? ?

Leeds have spent colossal amounts of money over the last few years and haven't brought in any transfer fees in that time. Even this window the've already spent something like 50 or 60m. Obviously TV money helps, but with a new manager in place and chronic defensive issues last season, making the maximum amount of money now must feel like their best shot to finish this coming season still in the Premier League.

Just get the feeling Fabio has other irons in the fire. He isn't going to be pinned down to one player.. and I think if Raphina was our number 1 priority, we'd bid the required amount rather than risk losing out to Arsenal. I can see a left field (excuse the pun) move incoming.

For me it's because even across the media it feels like we're dipping our toe in the water, feeling the temperature whereas Arsenal are diving straight in. I'm not saying that's the reality at all but it's just how it feels.

Would be fucking annoying though if Arsenal sign Raphinha as well as Jesus, transforms their attack. Jesus isn't a world beater but Raphinha / Jesus / Saka is pretty tidy

Arsenal are clearly putting all their effort in to signing a few select targets, meanwhile Paratici jumps around from target to target. We aren't Juventus where the best players will wait for us, they want to be convinced they're first choice. Last summer and January were no different for us, luckily we got 2 opportunities late in the Jan window that worked out very well.

This is all well and good until we end up with Zaniolo who isn't close to being as good as Raphinha.

Yeah certainly feels like Arsenal want him more and Edu will be turning on the charm.

Yeah, they just need a back 4 and midfield now ? still chilled, no way a player in peak years of his career in a World Cup year turns down, CL,Conti, our facilities and comparable wages for Thursday football. If we want him he’ll come, if he doesn’t pretty sure it will because we chose not to pull the trigger.
