How on Earth are Barcelona going to pay that?
They are selling percentages of their future TV revenue to balance their books today and if you immediately say to yourself "wow that seems like a bad idea for future" then you are right but Barca don't care because they want the money now and La Liga only cares that according to funny accounting you aren't broke today even if your not broke today decisions will make you extra broke tomorrow.

i think they also sold away like 50% of their merchandizing rights forever or something absolutely bonkers like that

Insane what's happening over there. I know they've been bad in the market and things like that but it's still wild.

What I don't understand from some of these clubs is how they think Frenkie De Jong's wages of 17mil or whatever are justified as his first contract from them coming from Ajax where he probably made 20k/week.

Acting like a top tier club without the finance to back it up.

Wow, I knew Barca had raised money by questionable means I didn't think they'd shell out that much for Raphinha.

Very glad he's not going to Arsenal or Chelsea, though. He's one of the players I was absolutely sure would improve them and really didn't want to see playing for another London club.

Barca are still a massive club and they always find a way. Laporta was always going to try and make some big name signings again. Even Inter who are not as big but still a big club continue to make moves too.

If they were such a big club they wouldn't be using Arsenal's scouts.

Surely all of this is going to come crashing down for Barcelona at some point, but perhaps their focus is on wages as opposed to transfer fees.

Think they had to push the boat out because they were competing with Man City and PSG for his signature.

I think i'd be getting concerned if we were selling a player to them, i'd want paying all up front otherwise you might be screwed if they go pop!
