You jest, but I honestly wouldn't put it past us at all. We are very capable of it. IF we get past Ajax we are playing against a 1 man team. Yes they have good players etc but essentially if Messi doesn't show up they are very ordinary imo

So while it is extremely unlikely, I certainly wouldnt see it as impossible that we lift that cup!

Does anyone know any professional kidnappeers?

Great set of results for us today, but I’m taking nothing for granted.

We’re playing Everton, they’re playing Burnley. An 8-goal GD swing is certainly not beyond the realms of reality.

Loving the optimism of the people disagreeing with this.

Lest we forget just a couple of seasons ago, we lost 5-1 on the final day of the season to a relegated Newcastle, while Arsenal won 4-0 on the same day.

A GD deficit of 8 *can* be plausibly overturned on one matchday.

Given that we’ve only picked up 10 points in 3 months as others have pointed out, and scored one goal in the league in living memory, I’m not rushing to count chickens.

Depends on the Brexit negotiations between Labour/Tories. Apparently Corbyn wants a rule change to allow 5th place + Europa to trump 4th place before he accepts the Withdrawal Agreement.
I tell you what though... I'm hoping VAR doesn't change the game that directly, but after the Monreal dive today, and the Alli penalty bottlejob from Pawson yesterday, it's going to be interesting to see how much it will affect the table next season.
And all of the penalties that have been awarded to Bin Dippers as a result of that cheating t*** Salah going to ground at the first opportunity. How many points could you deduct? City would have won Premier title weeks ago.

I think we were predicted to finish around 85 points on the spread betting markets at the time. We'll have made/lost people some serious money with that run.

Okay, that explains it. Watch us now get banned from UEFA competitions for the next 5 years and to get relegated to the bottom division because of match fixing.

How many points have Arsenal picked up in that time and how many away wins do they have this season?

Credit to the battling 9 players in the second half yesterday. You would normally expect a team of 9 with 30+ mins left to concede a few goals at least.

I'm still slightly nervous though :cautious:

INc. injury time we played for 47 mins with 9 men. A 0-0 would have been the stuff of legend.

I have a couple of questions.
Does anyone really believe that we won't win the Champions league now? Isn't it written in the stars?
Does anyone believe Aubamayang still thinks he made a step up when he left Dortmund?

We havent been hemorrhaging goals have we?
And Arsenals away form is a thing of ridicule.
There's more chance of an alien mothership appearing above our stadium and trying to mate with it than this 8 goal difference being turned around.

Another season of CL football pretty much guaranteed now, barring an 8 goal swing.
Arsenal likely to rest players next weekend anyway assuming they don’t blow their 2bd leg.

Hopefully Chelsea beat them in the EL final meaning another season without CL football which will do them serious harm financially and in attracting/retaining top talent.

Chelsea making CL instead of Arsenal is great news, assuming their transfer ban remains & Hazard joins Madrid.

All in all, fantastic. Ok we’ve had a bad end to the season & need numerous quality signings this summer but to make CL for the 4th year running given our light squad, injuries, WC year & ground situation is amazing.

Wheres that black panther mask now you prick lol.

Shit, just remembered they'll probably go win Europa now, have a trophy and get CL spot :(

We've managed to lose 4 out of 5 games 1-0, we're never going to concede all those goals again in 1 game and even if we did there's 0% chance Burnley get smashed at home

How are you still so positive after presumed years as a spurs fan?

The way we have qualified for the Champions League this season may be perfect in terms of our business in the summer, I mean there is absolutely no way Poch can come out with this Im happy with my squad bullshit and Levy can also see that if he doesnt give up the readies then we will miss out next year.

Quite frankly we have got away with being pretty shit this season regardless of our position and getting to the CL semi final. We arent as good as we were 2 years ago and some of our players are bang average, I mean it says it all that Wanyama appearing in CL semi.

Time for Danny and Poch to sort this squad out.

It's a completely different scenario though. At 2-0 down against Newcastle we were trying to go all out to win 3-2, if we're 2-0 down on Sunday we won't have to do that. And at 3-1 down, with ten men and five minutes to go, we'd just look to close the game out and probably wouldn't go on to concede another couple.

Completely understand your point, we’ve all been hurt too many times before. Like you say you can’t take anything for granted in this league.

However, the arsenal players looked defeated tonight, they clearly think it’s over, and regardless of what we do next week, I reckon Burnley will beat them.
