Race for the Top 4 - 2018/19

Never forget that we had 60 points on February 10th

We've gained 10 points since then in 3 months and still finished top 4, amazing.

I think we were predicted to finish around 85 points on the spread betting markets at the time. We'll have made/lost people some serious money with that run.

I think people will still be asking if Arsenal or Chelsea winning the EL prevents us being in the CL right up to 2minutes from kick off in our first CL group fixture next season.

But does it?

We've limped over the line for 4th and I still think 3rd is on. We need to overhaul that squad and add some depth because we not going to get lucky again.

It's been 2 seasons that we limped over the line.

last season we finished 7pts a head of 5th, how's that limping

The goal imo now is throw everything at Wednesday night and if we get through wrap anyone important in cotton wool for the final imo. Imagine getting an injury to Sissokko, Toby or erisen on that game to add to our other issues

The final is June 1st, almost 3 weeks after Everton. Surely we can still play with a bit of freedom and get a party atmosphere if we beat Ajax and give the lads a send off to the final?

Second half of the season = Huddersfield form

I am happy with Huddersfield’s current form.

Was out driving with wife and kids when my brother rang me up with the result. Almost lost control of the car, screamed so hard my kids woke up in the back and the wife was fuming! What a day!! Can’t believe it!! From the lows of yesterday til the highs of today - madness! Love this club!

This top 4 race has been brutal and the last couple of weeks in particular have been the worst I can remember.

So glad I’ll be able to enjoy the 2nd leg of the CL SEMI FINAL now!

If you had offered us this at the beginning of the season we would have ripped your arm off. 4th place all but sorted and only a 1 goal deficit in the champions league semi.

I was so down after yesterday, then I see the results from today.

Spurs are just a rollercoaster.

I watched the last twenty minutes of the United game. Had no intention of watching Arse's inevitable win so went to do some shopping. Brighton equaliser came up on my phone and I thought 'Don't fall for it. Don't effing dare to hope'. Ten minutes later I'd convinced myself that if it was still 1-1 as I was walking past my local, I'd go in and watch the end. So I did. It was fifteen minutes of torture but it was so so so worth it in the end.

It was. But I have to say I thought the players were immense. We actually have them a game with 9 men! I was too annoyed to be proud at the time, but looking back it was a huge effort from those players. With 10 I reckon we could have beaten them.

Credit to the battling 9 players in the second half yesterday. You would normally expect a team of 9 with 30+ mins left to concede a few goals at least.

You jest, but I honestly wouldn't put it past us at all. We are very capable of it. IF we get past Ajax we are playing against a 1 man team. Yes they have good players etc but essentially if Messi doesn't show up they are very ordinary imo

So while it is extremely unlikely, I certainly wouldnt see it as impossible that we lift that cup!
