Never expected to get anything from today’s game anyway, a draw would have been a great result.

We must must must win all our home games now. Got to hope some of our rivals slip up again too.

Poch: the players are more than heroes.

I’m really sorry but if you wonder where this soft touch, fragile mentality that runs through the club comes from, it’s plain to see.

What a fucking ridiculous thing to say when we’ve come off our 5th PL game without a win.

We've had the chance to do something really special with the squad over the past 3/4 years and we've let it slip by, both through a lack of investment and an inability to fully shake the "Spurs" mentality.

Such a shame, as I can see a few keys players leaving this summer, and I don't think many of us hold much hope in us replacing them adequately. Can see a slow slip back into battling for top 4/6 now.

This is exactly why we won’t finish in the top4, the club doesn’t have the desire to be there from the investment into the team, to the players in the last 5 games & now these comments from Poch

Yeah as a club we are too accepting of failure.

Been out all day and only just noticed what happened in the Cardiff game. Of course Chelsea get a jammy win, no doubt followed by the gooners tomorrow night .

I know it's hard to see it when we've been beaten in that way and arsenal likely to overtake us but what ppl aren't taking into consideration is that there are difficult games for our rivals too. And we are mostly at home.

United are away at Wolves, home to City and Chelsea. They won't win all their games.

Chelsea are away at Pool and United, they too won't win all their games.

Arsenal are mostly away, and are still in the Europa. Look at their schedule cause they have to go to Burnley, Everton, Watford and they need to squeeze a trip to Wolves in too. It'll be heavy for them and they won't win every game.

Beat Palace on Wednesday get our new home bouncing and a huge lift and I feel the mood will change.
Arsenal have Burnley away last game of season. I think Burnley will be safe then, so wouldn't count on that one Leicester, Everton, Wolves and Watford away you would hope would yield some dropped points. I said at the time that them beating Man Utd was a bad result for us. I think we are going to need to win all games except for Man City to have a chance but I'm not at all convinced we will. I think Chelsea are likely to win the Europa League anyway. It seems to suit their style of play.

This post has given me some hope after Today's massive disappointment.

On paper yes, but we’ve seen how it works out in the past when we rely on Arsenal in particular dropping points when we need or even expect them to.

What a depressing comment from Poch I have to say.

It's as far removed from installing 'winning mentality' as you can get!

I was pretty relaxed after the game despite the circumstances in which we lost, I'm still backing us for top4 and thought the overall performance was quite good but we were punished for lacking quality in-front of their goal and then a pathetic error from Lloris for their winner.

In the summer a lot of us felt that the business would cost us and we were leaving ourselves extremely short. I know a lot of people disagreed but when the failings of the summer are brought up after results and situations like this people say now is not the time when we are hurting. Well I'm asking when is the time because our midfield options today were absolutely terrible. To only have Sissoko as a fit midfielder is shambolic. I love the guy for the effort and performances he has put in this season but how he can be a starting midfield choice for a team who supposedly want to challenge for titles is ridiculous. Not only is the midfield a shambles but now other positions are now starting to become a concern and it's way too much overhaul for one summer.

To be in the position we are in with our midfield situation is because of the failings of the summer and it's Poch and Levy at fault for it. We shouldn't be in this position where we are holding onto top4 for dear life and if we fail to make it then it will be one of the biggest failings of a premiership teams to date.

Yes and no.

This great team/period/opportunity has occurred bang in the middle - the peak even - of our protracted house move.

Genuinely believe that has hurt us in the short term.

Hard to stay in the top 4 when the competition are spending double in like for like positions.

Really feels like a tipping point, either we make top 4 and hope we spend well in the transfer market to stay competitive next season or the squad starts to fall apart quickly like many of us were worried about in the summer when we did not sign anyone. How many players will stick around for back to back europa league.

Anyway looking forward to the Palace game at the new ground, COYS

Need a win against Palace. Or else we have to think about building that NFL franchise our stadium deserves.

We’ve fucked it.

I was looking back at previous league tables to see if anyone had ever finished top 4 with 10 defeats. It’s a pretty rare occurrence. It’s happened 2-3 times in the past 20 years.

My next job was to see if anyone has ever finished top 4 with 11 defeats (which we’ll be on after City away at the latest) and I couldn’t find any examples going back to the late 90s, at which point I got bored of the exercise and made a cup of tea.

Fuck it. Being in the Europa didn’t stop Arsenal signing good players in the summer, and being in the CL 3 years straight hasn’t exactly seen us attract the world’s finest footballers.

If players want to leave rather than play in the Europa for us, let them go, and sign players who want to be here. You never know, but if we take it seriously, we might even stand a chance of winning the thing.
